From the customs statistics, we can see that the export of knitted garments in China has changed in 2006, and the total export volume of knitted garments and accessories has reached 44 billion 901 million US dollars, an increase of 45.44% compared with the same period last year. Gu Rao Town, Shantou, Guangdong, was named "China's knitted underwear town" in 2004 and 2005 by the China Textile Industry Association and the China knitwear industry association.

In the first half of 2007, the town achieved an industrial output value of 2 billion 458 million yuan, an increase of 17% over the same period last year.

Li Zhu, Shaoxing

The knitting industry of Lizhu town in Shaoxing County of Zhejiang province originated in the early 1990s. With the advantage of first hand, the circular knitting machine quickly developed from the first five or six to 646 now, with more than 3900 employees, 24 large scale enterprises with sales revenue exceeding 5 million yuan, and 2 billion yuan in 2006, forming 4 professional villages, including Zhongyi, Dong Qiao, Da Bu and Li Zhu.
