Last Year, The Export Of Uruguay Sheep Wool And Its Products Decreased By 11%.

According to the Uruguay Observer Magazine March 3, 2009, according to the statistics released by the Uruguay wool Bureau, the export value of Uruguay sheep products was 282 million 600 thousand US dollars in the latest year as at the end of February 2009, down 11% compared to the same period last year.

Uruguay wool Bureau experts said that although the overall export of sheep products continued to decline, the export of high value-added products increased overall.

In high value-added wool products, wool export increased by 4.2%, mainly exported to the United States (75.8%).

Exports of wool fabrics increased by 3.8%, mainly exported to Brazil.

Export of wool garments increased by 26%, mainly exported to Argentina (42.2%).

The export of blankets and carpets decreased by 54% and 97% respectively.

In the export of sheep products, the export of wool and its products accounted for 72.7%, and the export amount was 205 million 500 thousand US dollars, down 17.9% from the same period last year.

The export value of mutton has reached US $69 million, which has risen 35.8% in recent months.

The export of sheepskin was 3 million 600 thousand US dollars, an increase of 35.4%.

The export amount of live sheep was 4 million 200 thousand US dollars, down 68.6%.

Wool and its products (dirty wool, wool and wool) exported 47 thousand and 200 tons, down 30.3% compared to the same period last year.

In the product composition, wool tops 69.8%, dirty hair accounts for 16.8%, and wool washing accounts for 13.4%.

Among them, the export of wool tops decreased by 20.8%, the export of dirty hair decreased by 47.4%, and the export of wool washed down by 42.7%.

The export volume of wool and its products (dirty wool, wool and wool) was 152 million US dollars, down 24.3% compared to the same period last year.

China is the main importer of wool in Uruguay (42.9% of total), and exports decreased by 25.3% compared with the same period last year.

In the past year, China imported 89.4% of Uruguay's dirty wool, 57.7% of its wool and 31.8% of its top wool.
