Changzhou Has Developed A Method For Testing DMF Content In Shoes.

Changzhou entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau's import and export industrial and consumer products safety inspection center has recently been designated as the only designated testing center for two methyl fumarate (DMF) in Jiangsu province.

At present, 50 batches of samples from 40 enterprises in Nanjing, Suzhou, Kunshan and Changzhou have been tested to help a group of enterprises evade export risks.

France has banned imports of chairs and footwear, including DMF, around a certain export sofa containing anti mould agent DMF, which caused human allergies.

Related inspection and quarantine institutions found that the "sofa allergy" incident resulted from sofa manufacturers in order to prevent the sofa from becoming moldy during pportation. A small bag containing DMF crystal was placed on the sofa surface and foam material.

Because DMF is volatile, it is absorbed by the skin of the human body, thus causing skin allergy.

To this end, the AQSIQ issued an urgent notice requiring all localities to strengthen the supervision of the use of DMF in the export of light textile consumer goods.

Changzhou entry and exit inspection and quarantine department subsequently set up a technical team, drawing on the detection method of DMF in food, and through the analysis of the actual samples, developed a method for testing the content of DMF in textiles, wood products, leather, desiccant and other materials in the sofa, and became the only designated DMF testing organization in Jiangsu province.
