During the Expo, once hot weather is hot, it will send early warning information to tourists of corresponding nationality according to the standards of major countries, minimizing the possibility of heat stroke and fainting caused by heat waves.

Notification of high temperature heat wave warning

According to the forecast of the flood season of the Shanghai Climate Center, it is estimated that the high temperature over 35 C will reach 15-24 days during the Expo, which is less than the average of 26 years in the recent 5 years, but it is still more obvious than that on the 9 day of the year.

For this reason, the meteorological department will realize the business of "high temperature heat wave and human health meteorological warning" during the Expo, so that citizens and tourists can get information on high temperature days, and minimize the possibility of heat stroke and fainting caused by heat waves.

In addition, when the high temperature weather occurs, the meteorological department will issue the "thermal index" and related early warning in advance, and inform the Expo visitors at the first time through TV, website, outdoor electronic display screen, etc., and suggest that we should pay attention to travel and queue up.

In response to the severe convective weather such as typhoons and thunderstorms that may occur in summer in Shanghai, the meteorological department has also launched an early notification mechanism, adding two internal defense lines on the basis of severe convective weather alerts, advancing the early warning of up to half an hour in advance to 6 hours' internal notification, giving sufficient time for Expo Park's security, pportation, operation and health.

Sending early warning according to national standards

In China, 35 degrees Celsius is considered to be a hot day. The highest temperature above 35 degrees Celsius for more than 3 days can be counted as a wave of heat.

In India, to reach above 40 C is a hot day.

But in Holland, as long as there is a continuous 5 day average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, and there are 3 days above 30 degrees Celsius, even high temperature heat wave.

Considering the different adaptation degree of tourists from different countries to the local weather in World Expo, the new "heat wave warning platform" in the meteorological department has integrated the heat wave and health warning system of the major countries in the world.

Expo visitors, regardless of which country or region they come from, can see their own familiar heat wave forecasts in the Expo meteorological service network.

In addition to tourists, the meteorological department will launch services to some popular venues, sending daily forecast messages on the day and the next day, including the US Pavilion, the French Pavilion, the Spanish Pavilion, etc.
