Wang Rong, Secretary of the municipal Party committee, recently inspected the tenth Shenzhen clothing trade fair and investigated some garment enterprises, pointing out that Shenzhen's garment industry is a model of pformation and upgrading, and advocates all walks of life to learn from the clothing industry and accelerate the pace of pformation and upgrading. How did Shenzhen's clothing industry go through the hundred years of clothing power in just 20 years? What successful experiences and inspirations did the garment industry have in the process of pformation and upgrading? At present, there are 6 domestic brands of women's clothing sold in the first tier cities in China. Every 10 pieces come from the designer of Shenzhen. Shenzhen is the largest women's clothing brand production base in the mainland, with more than 1200 women's clothing brands. Shenzhen costumes are in the forefront of the country in terms of design concept, style innovation, fabric selection, processing technology and so on, while the new cycle of Shenzhen women's wear has been shortened to two weeks, and the latest one or two days have a new style of women's clothing on sale.
Taking a look at the history of the garment industry in Shenzhen for more than 20 years, Shenzhen clothing has completed pformation and upgrading in a very short time, and has formed a complete and perfect industrial system. It has a better agglomeration effect and has become a model of pformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
The municipal Party committee and municipal government of Shenzhen has created a highly marketable atmosphere for enterprises, providing huge space for development from small to large, from low end to high end.
It is under such conditions that Shenzhen clothing enterprises follow the laws of market development and enhance their capability of independent innovation, from the initial subcontracting to industrialization and branding, and to the road of pformation and upgrading.
Shenzhen garment industry is following the pace of the times and accelerating its development, striving to become the "main force" of Shenzhen's fashion creativity, playing a role in Shenzhen's "fashion capital".

At present, the output value of Shenzhen's clothing brand has increased from less than 10% in the early 90s to 49% last year, and this trend is accelerating.

From the 80s to the early 90s of last century, it was difficult to find local clothing in Shenzhen market, let alone brand.
At that time, there were many garment factories in Shenzhen, but almost all of them were processed according to orders, and the products were all exported.
"Shenzhen is just a garment production workshop for overseas or foreign companies."
A head of the Shenzhen apparel industry association described the development history of Shenzhen's clothing industry. It is a dream from the "three to one" and "OEM" production, and then to the brand and brand name, the original design, the "clothing capital" and the "fashion capital". The Shenzhen municipal government has created a highly marketable atmosphere for enterprises. In addition, Shenzhen is adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao. In the initial stage of reform and opening up, Shenzhen has been exposed to international brands earlier than other cities in the country.
At present, except for a few state-owned enterprises, most of Shenzhen's garment industry is foreign invested enterprises, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan investment enterprises and private enterprises. Therefore, the clothing industry in Shenzhen has been operating according to the law of market economy from the beginning, and has been in line with the international practice. The government encourages enterprises to introduce a lot of foreign advanced technology, technology, marketing and management experience. Today, most of Shenzhen's clothing enterprises have flexible operation mechanism and strong ability to respond quickly to the market.
Over the years, the municipal government has formulated policies to encourage enterprises to "sell both domestic and foreign markets at the same time", "design as the soul, brand as the life and market orientation", so as to encourage enterprises to continue to open up overseas markets and expand their exports on the one hand. On the other hand, they should intensify efforts to open up domestic markets and actively promote enterprises' own brands and famous brand products.
Through these policies and measures, many export oriented garment enterprises, especially women's clothing enterprises, have begun to create their own brands and expand the national domestic market.
"Visible hand" helps pform and upgrade and continue to achieve.
At present, there are more than 3500 garment enterprises and 400 thousand employees in Shenzhen. Such a huge industry is moving towards pformation and upgrading, and it is inseparable from the support and guidance of the government's "visible hand".
In order to help more garment enterprises to establish brand awareness and achieve industrial pformation and upgrading, the government has given sufficient support in various aspects such as financing, customs and taxation, so as to promote the pformation of garment industry from "made in Shenzhen" to "created in Shenzhen".
In twenty-first Century, in order to establish a good image of the women's clothing industry in Shenzhen and create a favorable environment for development, the city government planned to build the wave dress industry gathering base and the Gongming underwear industry gathering base, and set up the Shenzhen garment research center, in order to promote the garment industry to accelerate the pace of technological pformation and technological innovation, and implement the brand development strategy.
The introduction of the "Shenzhen women's clothing industry regional brand development plan from 2008 to 2012" depicts a bright future for the development of Shenzhen's clothing industry.
At present, the first phase of "Shenzhen garment industry gathering base", which covers about 1400000 square meters in Baoan District, has been basically completed, and nearly 20 well-known domestic brand clothing enterprises have been settled.
Shenzhen is the "capital of design" identified by the United Nations Educational, scientific and cultural organization. Design and creativity have become a powerful driving force for Shenzhen's urban development.
The fifth municipal Party Congress also put forward the development of Shenzhen as "fashion creativity center" and "Oriental charm city".
