If you always want to be in the main

When reconnecting the portable computer to the main computer (or inserting removable disks containing modified files), the briefcase automatically updates the files on the main computer to the modified version.

It is not necessary to remove the modified file from the "Briefcase" or delete the existing copy on the main computer.

The briefcase stores files and displays the status of the files.

For example, it can show whether a file is linked to the original file of the host computer, or whether a file is an isolated file.

This information helps you organize files and prevent accidental deletion or duplication on the latest version of the file.

Create a new "Briefcase"

To open my computer, click start and click my computer.

Click the folder where you want to create a new "Briefcase".

On the file menu, point to new, and then click briefcase.

Using the briefcase to synchronize files on the computer

When the computer is in a connection state, open the briefcase on the portable computer and copy the required files from the main computer.

After processing the files, please connect two computers (if they have been disconnected), open the briefcase on the portable computer, and complete one of the following steps:

To update all files, please click all updates on the briefcase menu.

To update only some files, select the file that you want to update, and then click Update selection on the briefcase menu.
