The Best Invention Of Clothing Is "&Nbsp"; &Nbsp; The Future Wardrobe Is Full Of Bottles And Cans.

Manil Torresboro Luckham Jar Fabric Future Wardrobe

He always can't buy clothes that fit him; he can't find a piece of clothes to match his new bag when he rummaged in his house, but the new clothes he bought at high prices actually ran into a crash shirt.

Perhaps in the near future, these troubles can be solved easily.

After 10 years of research, Spanish fashion designers

    Manil Torres

Professor of particle technology, Imperial College London, University of London

    Paul Luckham

Jointly invented a new type of fabric -- "

    Spray tank fabric

"(Fabrican), it is not necessary to knit and stitch through any fabric. As long as the nozzle is directed to the body lightly, with the solvent evaporating, the fibers are bonded together, and a fitting and unique garment is worn onto the body.

In the Time's "50 best inventions" announced in mid 2010 this year, the "clothes sprayed" were also on the list.

Will they be all bottles and cans?

The "Jar Canister" is made up of cotton fiber, polymer (a substance adhered to cotton fiber) and a solvent which can dissolve chemical components. The user only needs to spray the nozzle of the canister fabric to the body lightly, and when the fiber contacts the skin, it will dry and a piece of clothing will be "seamless" to the body.

The principle of "canister fabric" is to turn cotton into liquid, compress it into a jar, and then form a cloth like cloth on the human body or any surface by spraying crossed fibers.

If you want to spray colorful clothes, put the desired pigments into the spray gun, paint the clothes for the same color; in addition, it can also repeatedly spray several layers of cloth, so as to adjust the thickness of the clothes.

Spray clothes can also be removed and washed and worn again.

Once you are tired of a spray made garment, it can be dissolved by itself, again used to make new clothes, or to repair the original design.

The invention of painting with spray paint is a new breakthrough in the clothing design field. It can be easily sprayed on any object surface. The multicolor inkjet can always make up a super fashionable garment you want.

When you go out, you don't need to worry about finding clothes, because you can make a unique dress in your own house if you just paint it with DIY.

Maybe a few years later, Shopaholic people no longer show their friends: "I bought a new dress!" but "I sprayed a new dress!" the wardrobe is no longer full of all kinds of clothes, but is full of colorful bottles and cans.

Several sprayed clothing designs have been unveiled in London Fashion Week, and the first "spray dress show" featuring "spray cans" has been held in autumn 2010.

No one will crash a shirt.

At present, Torres has applied for patent and set up a research team at Imperial College London, University of London, aiming at interdisciplinary research of technology and design.

Torres said that apart from T-shirts, people can also use their imagination to make clothes, trousers, bathing suits or hats for themselves, and never have to worry about clothes being unfitted or "crash shirts".

If you are tired of some design, people can also dissolve the fabric again, then modify the original style or design the new model.

It is still two years before the canister fabric is ready for sale. At present, Torres is looking for a more comfortable way of spraying clothes, including developing loose version fabrics, because not everyone likes clothes to be tightly attached to them.

In addition, he is trying to minimize the odor of solvents when spraying clothes.

The technology of canister fabric also has the potential to innovate in other markets.

Torres said on his official website, "from natural fiber to synthetic fiber, from basic color to fluorescent color, we have developed a variety of fabrics that are most convenient for modern consumers to use flexibly."

According to Torres's idea, there will be all kinds of canister products on the market. For example, sprayed bandages will replace disinfection gauze. It can relieve skin burns or directly cover the surface of the skin with no pressure.

In addition, it can also be applied to spray air freshener, furniture decoration materials and so on.

    The two major questions are:

    Are the sprayed clothes firm?

Zhang Yi, an associate professor and doctor of the Institute of materials science, Zhongshan University, is also optimistic about the development prospects of "spray cans", but he also points out some shortcomings.

She said, "usually the clothes we wear are made of machines or artificially. They are not only soft and comfortable, but also the fibers arranged in cotton are very regular and dense, and the strength is guaranteed. They can withstand a certain degree of pull.

In view of the technical level of the current "canister fabric", the clothes it sprayed is easy to form, but the density is not high. The fibers are stacked together without rules. The clothes made are relatively loose, the strength is difficult to guarantee, and they look burr, and they are not comfortable enough to wear.

Professor Zhang believes that the density and strength of the structure of the jar can also be improved by the inventor, but there is still a long way to go when it comes to life or replace clothes.

    Will it hurt your skin?

Is there any harm to the human body? "Professor Zhang said," from the ingredients of "spray cans", it can be analyzed mainly from two kinds of materials: "polymer" and "solvent". First of all, although the production cost is low and the molding is quick, it is not a "disposable" garment, it can be cleaned and used repeatedly, and even it can be dissolved and sprayed into another new garment with high recycling efficiency.

The key to reusing the "canister fabric" lies in the water solubility of the polymer, so long as the polymer it chooses is not "water-soluble polymer", it can be used for cleaning, and then repeated use.

From this point of view, it is a very environmentally friendly product.

But whether the "canister fabric" is environmentally friendly, besides the choice of fiber, there is another key factor, the solvent.

Professor Zhang explains that conventional solvents are generally water, ethanol or organic solvents. The former two are harmless to the human body, but if they are organic solvents, they will be harmful to the human body.

Moreover, the volatility of solvents is also critical for environmental protection of "spray cans".

It will be further confirmed that whether the sprayed material will directly injure the skin.

    Materials science expert:

The combination of "rapid prototyping" and "clothing design"

Zhang Yi, an associate professor of the Institute of materials science, Zhongshan University, said: "the concept of canister fabric is very new and has revolutionary significance." Professor Zhang said that the concept of "rapid prototyping" is not new. Nowadays, wall painting, steam car painting and so on have long used this technology, but combining "rapid prototyping" and "clothing design" is indeed an innovation.

According to Professor Zhang, the material of cotton fabric in general cotton clothing is a kind of natural fiber; besides, the "canister fabric" contains polymer and solvent besides cotton fiber, and the three are indispensable.

Cotton fiber is the most basic material of a garment; polymer can make the fibers stick together, spray out and form; and the role of the solvent is to make the above two materials better stored in the container, and make the sprayed material more volatile, rapid prototyping.

If the speed of solvent evaporation is too fast, it will not be conducive to continuous molding of fabric. The first layer is fast drying. When the second layers are sprayed, there will be problems with the adhesion and the clothes are not solid. If the evaporation speed is too slow, the fabric is slow to form, and it is also difficult to make a good garment.

"Canister fabric" is very suitable for people who like their own design and innovation, but for lazy people, it is troublesome. In the future, not only will they wear clothes, they may also master the skills of using cans.

    Professor Zhang laughed.

    Fashion Designer:

Not fit for human engineering and become mainstream of fashion

"These are the products of the industrial revolution and have their advantages," said Qu Ting Nan, China's top 10 fashion designer. "It's not very practical to talk about" no need to wear traditional clothes in the future, but to spray clothes on the body, "because these technological products are not enough for ergonomics.

"To design a garment, first of all, conform to ergonomics and make people comfortable," Qu pointed out. "Secondly, we need to embellish and beautify the role to hide the imperfect shape and show the bright side."

The clothes made of spray cans are very close, so that you can wear a diving suit every day, can you feel comfortable?

Qu Ting Nan stressed that outstanding designers should have clear design objectives before designing their works, taking full account of its practical functions and aesthetic functions.

The clothes made of canister fabrics lack the deep design concept. It can be used as a decoration and an element in dress design, but it is difficult to become the leading factor in costume design.

    (all 2010 Time's best invention).

Suzanne Lee, a senior designer at the central Saint Martin School of art and design, University of the Arts in London, has developed a fabric from a bacterium that is often used to turn green tea into fermented beverage, Kombucha.

When they digest sugar, the bacteria produce a lot of filaments. After working hard, Suzanne finally found ways to harvest and dry silk fibers.

As a result, the materials she produced looked like silk fabrics that could be sewn on shirts and coats.

Most of us would not want to throw away the plastic price tag, but the unique coat designed by Martin Margiela fashion house has given new life to these 29 thousand price tags.

The French avant-garde fashion house embroidered the price tags on leather coats for 42 hours, forming a herringbone pattern, which made the general coat fashionable with a fashion element: fake fur.

Once the porous sweater is broken, it is hard to repair, but the wool filler (Woolfiller) provides an easy solution for this century's difficult problem.

Using special wool and needles as materials, we use needles (with many small hooks) across wool and clothes damaged by moths.

By repeating this action, the fibers can be linked together so that a small patch of woolen sweater, socks or carpet can be made.
