It is imperative to reform existing development models to maintain competitiveness in the international market.

Despite decades of efforts, the wool textile industry has won a good reputation in the international market and established a solid customer relationship. However, in recent years, the development prospects of the industry are worrying because of the increasing appreciation of rupee, labor, pportation and hydropower costs.

Maurice pointed out that wool textile and garment enterprises should take intensive development path to enhance the flexibility of enterprises to undertake orders and shorten the completion.

Order cycle

To improve the efficiency and level of air logistics, capital withdrawal and raw material supply, we should consider investing in spinning and weaving factories in Africa to ensure stable supply of yarns and fabrics.

In addition, the production base has been pferred to Asia where labor costs are lower. Some of the wool textile enterprises are ready to build factories in South Asian countries with low labour costs.
