The Development Of Medical Textile Industry Is Facing Multiple Embarrassment.

    2011/5/6 16:33:00 99

    Embarrassment Of Textile Industry

Although China has a large population, although the per capita medical resources can not be compared with that of developed countries, the absolute medical resources of hospitals and related medical clinics are considerable.

In recent years, the medical and health field in China has been

    Textile materials

The demand potential is huge and the scale of the industry continues to grow. However, there are also some restrictive drawbacks.

According to the statistics of China Industrial Textiles Association, from 2002 to 2010, the development speed of medical and sanitary textiles industry exceeded 20%, and the export growth rate exceeded 29%.

However, the comprehensive technical performance of medical textiles in China can not fully meet the demand, especially in surgical implants and in vitro filtration textiles.

In addition, the application of domestic hospitals and health institutions has not yet been opened, and its application prospects need to be vigorously expanded.

The development of China's medical textiles industry has really entered a period of rapid growth since 2000, and the output reached 595 thousand tons in 2009 and over 700 thousand tons in 2010.

At present, the domestic widely used are mainly medical protective and hygienic textiles. However, with high technical content, most of the textiles used for surgical implantation and non implanting textiles and in vitro filtration are imported, and the annual import volume exceeds 6 billion US dollars.

Although China has a large population, although the per capita medical resources can not be compared with that of the developed countries, the absolute medical resources of hospitals and related clinics are considerable, and the spread of infectious diseases also leads to a wide demand for medical textiles in China, and the corresponding reserves are needed.

In recent years, the demand for textile materials in China's medical and health field has great potential, and the scale of the industry continues to grow. However, there are also some restrictive drawbacks, and the bottleneck of development is becoming increasingly prominent.

    restrict

According to research feedback, the current medical use in China

    textile

Most of the quality levels are uneven, varieties and models.

    Single

The price is high, low quality, poor in functionality and comfort.

The medical system only has certain certification for product suppliers, lacks unified materials and product procurement standards, certification methods and distribution management system, and lacks quality supervision institutions.

Hospitals in China mainly purchase non disposable products, and disposable products are also limited to conventional products such as masks and hats. The use of disposable isolation gowns and surgical gowns and disposable protective clothing is relatively low.

Most of the departments and districts are still using ordinary cotton protective clothing. Only disposable protective clothing, protective glasses and medical rubber gloves will be used only in infectious disease areas and intensive care units (ICU), and the utilization rate is not high.

The irrational product structure of medical textiles has become a serious problem hindering its healthy development.

    Lag in standard setting

Standard lag directly leads to uneven product quality.

According to statistics, there are 32 existing standards related to medical and sanitary textiles, of which 3 are GB which are urgently formulated in the 2003 SARS, and the other are the industry standards formulated by the medical system. Most of them are product standards or terminology. There are no more than 12 standards directly related to textiles, and two national standards are being worked out.

There are more than 60 standards of medical and sanitary textiles used in the world, and are mainly standard methods for testing materials and general requirements for products.

So far, the relevant standards of medical and sanitary textiles in China are basically based on the health system.

There are many differences between standard terminology and textile system in terms of standard usage and terminology.

Therefore, the textile system should strengthen the industry standard setting of materials and testing methods, and promote the medical system to formulate general requirements and application testing standards for terminal products, and do well in the standard docking of materials and products.

For some popular products and key key products, we should actively cooperate with the medical system to set up national recommended standards and even mandatory national standards.

There is a lack of guidelines and specifications for materials procurement in the industry.

Because the medical system does not carry out a complete set of standard assessments for different levels of hazardous environmental protection requirements, the purchase and use of protective textiles in hospitals are mostly based on experience.

At present, the procurement of hospitals in China is usually carried out by the medical administration department or the equipment department. Due to the lack of product standards and material certification requirements, the "three certificates" can only be checked in procurement, and the quality of products is difficult to guarantee.

    Qualification certification blank

Since the lack of standards and the use of standardized technical support, China's medical textile industry certification is relatively blank, especially the medical and protective products examination and approval mechanism confusion.

Cotton protective clothing and ordinary nonwovens protective clothing are a kind of medical devices, which can be examined and approved by the municipal medical device management department. Medical disposable and multiple protective clothing are two kinds of medical devices, which are examined and approved by the provincial medical device management department, but the technical standards and production standards for materials and products are not certified and stipulated.

The distribution channels of domestic medical textiles are complex, the cost of excellent products is expensive, and more products are of high quality and low price.

The low level of product information tracking management and after-sales service of medical textiles also have hidden dangers for cross infection medical accidents.

On the other hand, the export of a large number of high-end medical surgical gowns and masks in China has been exported and returned to the domestic market after being recognized and packaged by foreign authoritative inspection organizations. The circulation link has increased the cost of the end-users at a price of multiple times, which has not only brought block to the health of the industry, but also suppressed the promotion of high-performance products in domestic hospitals.

For example, as a major producer of disposable surgical gowns in the world, many surgical garments imported from abroad are often made in China, and the purchasing price of hospitals is much higher than that of factory prices.

Moreover, at present, the domestic medical textile reserve and distribution mechanism is not yet perfect. At this stage, the basic business is self production and self marketing, and there is a lack of material inspection and distribution organizations that can have a stable relationship with many enterprises.

    Lack of safeguard mechanism {page_break}

The lack of clear laws and regulations on medical occupational protection and the lack of personal protection mechanism have great influence on the demand for medical protective textiles in China.

The Ministry of Health issued the laws and regulations on occupational diseases prevention and control, the infectious disease prevention and control law, the hospital infection management standard (Trial Implementation), the public health emergency Ordinance, and other laws and regulations, which stipulates the personal protection for medical personnel in the diagnosis and treatment and related work. However, in addition to the requirements of the protection and guidance principles of the occupational exposure protection for avian influenza, the regulations on the quality and performance of protective articles, the order of wearing out and the effective time for wearing them are not stipulated in other laws and regulations.

After the outbreak of SARS in 2003, hospital administrators and staff generally recognized the importance of biological protection. Some affiliated hospitals and affiliated hospitals of medical universities paid more attention to the introduction of advanced protection concepts.

However, many hospitals only focus on the classified protection of fever outpatients, and do not attach importance to the protection of blood borne pathogens and other biological hazards. According to statistics, about 50% of the hospitals do not formulate rules and regulations to prevent occupational infection of blood borne pathogens.

Therefore, despite the use of disposable surgical gowns in China every year, hundreds of millions of pieces of disposable surgical gowns have been used. Most of the departments and districts in domestic hospitals still use traditional cotton surgical gowns. Only disposable surgical gowns or "three anti" multiple surgical gowns are selected only in infectious disease areas, intensive care units and emergency rooms, and disposable insulation clothing and protective clothing products are used less.

    trend

According to the statistics of China Industrial Textiles Association, from 2002 to 2010, the development speed of medical and sanitary textiles industry exceeded 20%, and the export growth rate exceeded 29%.

However, the comprehensive technical performance of medical textiles in China can not fully meet the demand, especially in surgical implants and in vitro filtration textiles.

In addition, the application of domestic hospitals and health institutions has not yet been opened, and its application prospects need to be vigorously expanded.

    Fast growth of biomedical materials

In recent years, biomedical textile materials have developed rapidly, and have been widely used in tissue regeneration, bone filling and regeneration, wound healing, biological adhesives, radiotherapy, dialysis and filtration, cosmetic surgery and other potential areas.

Because of its late start, the market share of biomedical materials in China accounts for about 2% of the world market.

According to the statistical data analysis of the center for quality supervision and inspection of medical devices of China's National Institute of pharmaceutical and biological products, most of the products of medical textiles used in surgical implants and in vitro filtration textiles, especially those made of artificial organ medical devices (including textile structural products), are very low.

It is predicted that the industry will grow by more than 15% in the next 15~20 years.

Disposable medical supplies play the leading role.

Disposable medical protective textiles will be an important application trend in the future.

After repeated use of the surgical clothing, the ability to obstruct and filter bacteria will be reduced after disinfection. Meanwhile, there is possibility of cross infection in the washing process.

In the United States, over 90% of hospitals choose disposable medical supplies.

Such products are mainly made of nonwoven materials, non-woven products such as operation room, and high quality products in the field of development.

At present, the development of medical nonwovens products is speeding up all over the world, and Europe, the United States, Japan, Korea and other countries and regions are spending large sums of money to increase research and development in this field.

It is reported that there are only 17 textile research institutes in Germany in the research and development of medical products.

In the future, the development of medical protective textiles will pay more attention to anti leakage technology, adsorption odor technology, anti-bacterial, anti blood penetration, anti-static, comfort and other functions.

    countermeasure

With the gradual establishment of a sound medical and health system in China, the demand for medical textiles will undoubtedly increase significantly in the future.

Effectively promoting the supply and demand convergence of medical textiles is the focus of the industry in the "12th Five-Year" period.

From the China Industrial Textiles Association, we know that the next industry will focus on the following aspects.

    Emphasis on benign operation

We should strengthen coordination among departments and establish a healthy operation mechanism for the development, production, circulation, use and management of national medical protective products.

In the field of textile and medical care, the production and market licensing of the medical textile industry needs to be approved by the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). Production enterprises also need to meet a number of national and industry standards such as GMP and ISO.

In terms of product standards, usage specifications, R & D and production applications, a multi department coordination mechanism is needed to strengthen communication and solve problems that cannot be solved by the medical textile industry itself.

In scientific research projects, investment and guidance, we should focus on supporting relevant units of medical protective equipment, and provide financial support to promote the technological pformation of existing medical textiles and the independent research and development of new products.

    Strengthening access management

We should establish a quality assurance system and strengthen the research, production and market access management of medical textiles.

According to China's national conditions, we set up a product standard system, set up different grading indicators for the performance of main products, and put forward suggestions on the scope of use, so as to guide clinical medical staff to correctly use protective products that meet the standard requirements.

Guide enterprises to carry out scientific and technological development, organize production and procurement according to corresponding standards, and promote a virtuous cycle of research, production, marketing and use.

Build a public service platform to promote the close integration of production enterprises, raw material supply enterprises, scientific research units and medical use units, and strictly regulate the market access conditions for medical protective textiles.

To strengthen the qualification and quality supervision of circulation links, only two types of medical protective textiles can be purchased and distributed by only specialized circulation organizations that are strictly certified.

Hospitals should purchase medical protective textiles from qualified circulation organizations, and circulation organizations must have the ability to carry out necessary testing and production supervision.

    Perfect emergency reserve

We should improve the physical and reserve system and establish a reserve rotation mechanism.

The establishment of emergency reserve mechanism for medical protective textiles is mainly based on monetary reserves and capacity reserves at the national level, supplemented by physical reserves.

For medical protective textiles with less daily demand and higher technical requirements, a certain amount of physical reserves should be established, but a regular rotation system should also be established to carry out corresponding reserves in the fields of R & D, production and circulation.

In the aspect of emergency reserve circulation, we should establish the reserve principle of "old and new, first in first out", and carry out the stock adjustment. Meanwhile, we should increase the stock of common varieties of public health emergencies such as epidemic situation.

The state should adopt certain incentive measures and compensation mechanisms to meet the normal supply of market and the demand for public health emergencies.
