Glashutte

Between 1945 and 1951, there were seven tabulating factories in the gassudi region, including a.langeamp, Sohne, felixestler, metechnik, liwos, feintechnik, uhren-rohwerke-fabrikglashutte and uhrenfabrikglashutte.

By 1951, the East German authorities had merged all seven Guerra Souty watch factories into a state-owned enterprise called vebglashutteruhrenbetriebe (GUB) in order to develop the socialist economy.

 

Over the next decades, grasti was almost completely isolated from the western world, with 2000 employees in the watch factory. The main task was to produce one hundred thousand simple and practical watches each year for the Eastern European group to use.

In 1994, heinzw.pfeiffer, an entrepreneur born in Bavaria, invested in GUB to further privatise it and personally acted as general manager in Heinz.

He worked as a high-tech medical device, and he was an enterprising and market sensitive operator.

After taking over, Guerra Souty, a traditional watchmaker and a unique German style, will be able to provide another option for Swiss watches. This is the chance for German watches to enter the global market.
