Guangxi Electricity Shortage Causes Thousands Of Enterprises To Stop Production

Gu Nanfeng told reporters that the current Guangxi power generation capacity is 9 million kilowatts, of which 2 million 500 thousand kilowatts of hydropower, 5 million 500 thousand kilowatts of thermal power, 1 million kilowatts of electricity outside the purchase area.

The demand for electricity in Guangxi is about 13 million kilowatts, the electricity gap is close to 4 million kilowatts, and the electricity shortage rate is about 30%.

Guangxi is rushing to introduce coal sources from all over the world, applying for electricity from Guangdong, Yunnan and other places, limiting the use of high energy consumption enterprises and non conventional industrial electricity, shutting down the lighting projects, and calling on the whole society to save electricity.

In the short term, water shortage and shortage of coal will be overlapped with the sharp increase in demand.

"Overall, the electricity shortage is caused by the superposition effect of the power generation capacity during the dry season and the high temperature load in summer."

Gu Nan Feng analysis, leading to the current round of power shortage in Guangxi, there are three main reasons.

First, the hydropower output in Guangxi has dropped significantly.

"This year, the Red River has suffered the biggest drought since the hydrologic record, and the water is only 30% of its usual year."

At present, Guangxi's hydropower output averages 2 million 500 thousand kilowatts, which is equivalent to the level of power generation in the dry season, which is 2 million 500 thousand kilowatts lower than that of 5 million kilowatts in the same period last year.

The two is the serious shortage of thermal power.

The thermal power plant in Guangxi has a capacity of 1 million kilowatts due to the lack of coal, resulting in the reduction of generating capacity by 1 million kilowatts due to unstable coal quality.

At present, Guangxi's thermal power generation capacity is only 5 million 500 thousand kilowatts.

Three is the sharp rise in demand for electricity.

During the "11th Five-Year" period, Guangxi's industrial added value increased from 126 billion 500 million yuan in 2005 to 380 billion yuan, and the demand for electricity increased.

The electricity demand in Fangchenggang, Qinzhou and Beihai, the fastest growing cities in Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, has increased by about 20% to 30% annually.

Since the summer, Guangxi has continued.

"In the long run, the" hard power shortage "caused by inadequate installed capacity will be difficult to change in the next 3 to 5 years.

Guangxi Power Grid Corp marketing director Zhu Chuanyao said.

It is understood that Guangxi needs 3 million kilowatts of installed capacity per year to meet the needs of economic and social development.

But this year, Guangxi only added 1 million 330 thousand kilowatts of thermal power, and concentrated in the fourth quarter, so it has made little contribution to the electricity supply this year. It is estimated that the installed capacity will be around 2 million kilowatts next year and may be less in the next year.
