Because of its soft handle and good thermal insulation, down garments are becoming more and more popular among consumers and become the first choice for warm clothing in winter.

In order to standardize the down garment market and guide the production and protection of consumers' rights and interests of all garment enterprises, the national garment Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC219) has formulated the national standard of down garments, GB/T14272-2002 "down garments".

This standard puts forward the requirements of physical and chemical properties for the special clothing of down garments, for example, there are special requirements for down filling, filling, fluffiness, oxygen consumption, cleanliness, odor and microorganism requirements.

The issuance and implementation of this standard has played an important role in improving the overall quality of the down garment industry and protecting consumers' rights and interests.

Recently, however, it has been found that some enterprises are shoddy and deceived consumers, such as some enterprises fill some non feather ingredients in Down garments.

This situation seriously affects the consumer's trust in the down garment production enterprises, reduces the desire of consumers to buy down clothes, destroys the reputation of the feather clothes industry, and has caused great loss and influence to the whole industry.

In order to regulate the sales market of China's down garments and protect the rights and interests of consumers, GB/T14272-2002 "down garments" emphasizes: first, the down weight of down garments should not be less than 50%.

Second, any down garment products that do not conform to the GB/T14272 down garments are all unqualified products in China and are not allowed to be sold in the Chinese market.
