Beginning in 2007, the National Standardization Management Committee, the China Textile Industry Association, the China clothing association, the Shanghai Clothing Research Institute (the Secretariat of the national garment Standardization Technical Committee) and the Bosideng Limited by Share Ltd and other units made efforts to actively promote the restart of the committee's work.

In July 2010, the international organization for standardization ISO/TC133 formally decided that China and South Africa shared the Secretariat's work.
