At the same time, Xinji intensified the research on the control and recycling of tannery, relying on new technologies and equipment to save more than 1/3 of tanning water than the past. Tannery sludge reduced by 80%, and chrome and lye emissions decreased by 70%.

At present, the new technology of water-saving rotary drum has been applied in 10 tannery enterprises, and the water saving rate reaches 60%.

Chrome free tanning leather covers more than 85% of the total, and has become a veritable "green leather".
