It is understood that Honghe sweater industry is one of the typical representatives of Zhejiang's massive economy. The products are exported to all parts of the country and exported to more than 30 countries and regions such as Korea, Europe and the Middle East. The proportion of export to foreign trade is as high as 70%.
Although the Honghe sweater industry has formed a large industrial cluster, it has many national honorary titles - "China's export sweater manufacturing base" and "Chinese sweater town". However, there are few brands of Honghong sweater industry, only "giant Nuo", "thirty autumn", "Weiss Lan", "Yi Shang Mei" and so on.
According to introduction, Honghe woolen sweater industry has a tendency of low end. The scale of enterprises is generally small, the technology and equipment are backward, the R & D capability is relatively weak, the brand construction is lagging behind, the price of the market products is mostly around 20 yuan, the profit space is very narrow, and 200 Hongbu sweaters are not as good as a iPhone mobile phone, while the middle and top grade products are very few.
In contrast to the low level of the industry, the number of enterprises is large, but the layout is scattered, occupying more land resources and consuming more energy. According to statistics, the average output value of 40% of sweater enterprises is below 16 million yuan, while that of high energy consumption accounts for 15% of the whole town. It can be said that the whole sweater industry is mainly driven by investment, the contribution of science and technology to output is small, the added value of products is low, and the market competitiveness is not strong, so it is urgent to transform and upgrade.
Urgent need for transformation of Industrial Development
As a traditional industry, the sweater industry has to transform to the two sides of the "smile curve". We must make efforts to upgrade the functions of design, technology innovation and marketing system, and take the road of quality and branding. But industrial transformation is difficult to effectively promote only by the conscious behavior of enterprises. It must rely on government policy guidance and support.

For example, in the field of brand building, enterprises can not only make their own brands better, but also make use of the current European debt crisis to acquire the two or three line brand in Europe and America, or cooperate with other brands to enhance the market influence of enterprises.
Of course, the government should also strengthen industry supporting construction and develop producer services, including technology, business, information, logistics and other services. In particular, develop modern logistics industry, build an industrial base logistics base integrating sweater raw material procurement, loading and unloading, warehousing and distribution, and effectively enhance the overall competitiveness of enterprises.
