MDI Mass Production Is Not Controlled By Foreigners.

MDI large-scale production is not controlled by foreigners. Yantai Wanhua plant has successfully developed MDI manufacturing technology of 40 thousand tons / year, 80 thousand tons / year, 160 thousand tons / year and 200 thousand tons / year from 2000 to 2006.

Yantai Wanhua has reached the international advanced level, making China the fourth country to have the technology besides Germany, the United States and Japan.

This historic breakthrough indicates that China is no longer under the control of foreigners in this field of high-tech products.

You may not know that your shoes and artificial leather handbags, home wire and furniture, all use a plastic called polyurethane.

It can be made into auto parts, clothing liners and medical artificial organs.

It can even be regarded as paint and building materials.

In recent 20 years, demand for it has been increasing day by day, and demand is two times that of global GDP.

The production of polyurethane requires the use of a key material, MDI.

The manufacturing process of MDI is extremely complex. For a long time, MNCs have made huge profits by technology monopoly.

In early 80s, in order to solve the problem of wearing shoes for 1 billion people, China imported polyurethane synthetic leather production equipment from Japan.

As a supporting facility, Wanhua plant in Yantai has introduced a set of MDI production equipment with an annual output of ten thousand tons, which is equivalent to the level in 60s in Europe and America.

Wanhua does not master technology. Japanese experts only tell how to operate devices. This is the so-called "key factory, complete set of imports".

From September 1993 onwards, Wanhua began to tackle the core of the MDI device, the technology software package, and continuously achieved technological breakthroughs.

In 1996, the capacity reached 15 thousand tons, indicating that the technology imported from Japan was completely digested and the "black box" had been opened. After that, they made persistent efforts to overcome a series of technical difficulties and achieve mass production of MDI.
