Reporters recently held in Guangzhou children's clothing accessories accessories quality control technology exchange meeting was informed that after a year of pition, the new version of the national basic safety technical specifications for children's textile products will be enforced in August 1st this year. One of the biggest highlights of the new standard is the addition of a new banned azo "4- azobenzene" test. At this point, the detection of prohibited azo in textiles has increased from 23 to 24.

It is understood that the current problems of children's clothing in China are mainly caused by carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, banned azo dyes, formaldehyde content exceeding standard, pH value is alkaline, color fastness is poor, fiber content is unworthy, buttons or clothing are not strong enough for sewing, and heavy metals can be extracted.

Reporters visited the past quality supervision, business and industry departments to spot checks on children's clothing inspection report, found that many brands of children's clothing products exist above problems.

According to Zhang Yulian, in the first half of this year, the ratio of disqualified azobenzene was slightly higher than that of last year.

Prior to this, the AQSIQ inspected 200 products produced by 200 domestic enterprises. After examination, some items of 26 products failed to meet the standards. The Beijing Consumers Association carried out a comparative test on 63 kinds of children's garments produced or distributed by 47 enterprises in 7 provinces and cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong. There were different problems in 33.3% samples. Shanghai Quality Supervision Bureau released quality reports such as children's clothes and shoes in the sampling inspection, with an unqualified rate of 18.2%.

In the spot checks, some famous brands were also listed in the black list, such as Parker lane, Li Ying Fang, Ying Shi and so on.

After use of azo dyes containing decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amines, clothing can be absorbed by the skin and spread in the human body in long-term contact with the human body. Under the condition of normal metabolism of human body, the reduction reaction may occur and the carcinogenic aromatic amine can be decomposed. After activation, the DNA structure of human body can be changed, causing human diseases or inducing cancer.

Zhang Yulian, senior engineer of the national textile and garment product quality supervision and Inspection Center (Guangzhou), told reporters that over 300 azo dyes are banned internationally, and they may release 24 kinds of carcinogenic aromatic amines.

It is reported that the new national standard to be implemented will increase the detection of azo in clothing. Meanwhile, the new standard also stipulates that the limit value of azo should be banned, not more than 20mg/kg.

The head of the Guangdong garment industry association pointed out that most of the products of the middle reaches clothing enterprises are on the upstream surface accessories manufacturers, because of the quality problems of the raw materials of clothing at the source.

Clothing enterprises have pointed out that we hope to control the quality of raw and auxiliary materials from the source so as to avoid the innocent involvement of downstream enterprises.

According to the relevant people of Guangdong quality and Technology Supervision Bureau, many problems in the quality of children's clothing products originate from the quality problems of fabrics and accessories.

Experts pointed out that banned azo exceeded the standard in pocket cloth and lining cloth, because these fabrics were cheap, manufacturers often did not pay attention to the purchase of dyes.

In view of how to put an end to the problem of carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, Zhang Yulian suggested that on the one hand, clothing companies should regularly check after purchasing fabrics. On the other hand, clothing manufacturers should stop purchasing when they buy dyes.
