Application Of Decorative Seams In Garment Design

(1) quilting.

Quilting has dual functions of warmth retention and decoration. It is a decorative technique that produces a relief pattern after adding a filling between two pieces of cloth.

(2) shrinkage joint.

Crinkle joint is a decorative technique to shrink the fabric into wrinkles.

The decoration technology, which was popular in Europe in the fifteenth Century, was once exclusive to high fashion. Now it has been popularized in ready-made garments and has become a common decorative process for blouse, dress and some accessories.

(4) pleat seam.

The pleat stitch is to arrange the fine pleat and the downwind pleat in order, fix the pleat on the horizontal line with a certain gap, then re fold the pleat between the horizontal lines, so that the wrinkles can be erected to create decorative techniques with pleated shape changes, and the needles can be embroidered with stitches on the pverse lines.

This decoration technology is widely used in its strong dynamic modeling.

(5) decorative stitch joints.

The decorative stitch joint is stitched together with cloth with embroidery stitch to form a decorative technique with lace style.

This decoration technology is mainly used for the decoration of garment segmentation lines, especially in plain colored fabrics. The stitching of colored silk or cotton thread and ribbons can greatly enrich the texture of fabrics. If it is matched with the vivid and smooth shapes of the segmentation lines, the decoration effect will be more vivid.
