Xi Jinping: Jointly Constructing The "Silk Road Economic Belt"

In a speech delivered by President Xi Jinping in Kazakh, Steiner and bayev University in September 7th, President P put forward that in order to make the economic ties between Eurasian countries become closer and cooperate with each other more deeply and develop wider space, we can build a "Silk Road Economic Belt" with innovative cooperation mode.

The silk road is a land passage between ancient China and Europe. It began to form in the Western Han Dynasty. There are many routes, starting from Changan (extending to Luoyang in the Eastern Han Dynasty), crossing the Hexi Corridor, passing the Taklimakan Desert, crossing the Pamirs Plateau, reaching the eastern coast of the Mediterranean through Central Asia, South Asia and Western Asia, and then leading to Europe and North Africa.

Before the great navigational age (from fifteenth Century to seventeenth Century), the silk road was the main channel for economic and cultural exchanges between Eurasian countries.

At that time, the inland was the center of human activities, and China was one of the most powerful countries.

After learning to use the ocean, China gradually returned to the global focus and embarked on the road of national rejuvenation.

From a global perspective, the inland areas of the Eurasian continent can be more involved in Global trade, and the economic development of China and the whole world will be more balanced.

Land pportation is going through many countries, customs procedures are more complicated, and some countries are at war.
