DETAO: Release Your Creativity.
As far as I know, in western countries, we are inclined to creative teaching.
This is what we want to bring.
German rice
Let the students in the studio release their creativity.
To become an excellent fashion designer, creativity and professional skills are indispensable to the two.
No one of us should have illusions from the very beginning.
To be a good designer requires ninety-five percent persistence and five percent inspiration.
So all the students and the whole team still need to make unremitting efforts.
Reporter: first, tell us about the brand of Artwork?
Jane:Artwork this.
brand
At first, it was started with the popular knitted fabric in the world. Other inspirations came from some buildings in Italy, movies, watches, sometimes from historical figures, and British traditional labor clothes that we had collected from fishermen and farmers. Those things that once fascinated me are our design inspiration.
Reporter: How did you locate the Artwork consumer group?
Jane: I think we prefer comfortable clothes and our home clothes. Our customers are from all ages, from 18 to 80 years old.
It embodies the dress requirements and comfort that our women want. It's not the kind of clothes that you put on the wardrobe once in the T show and never wear it again.
Just like some designers are quite good at this aspect, Celine, Jil Sander, and your Chinese Uma Wang (Wang Zhi).
Interviewer: why do you want women to design clothes?
Jane: I personally pursue the intersection of mainstream fashion and sportswear.
Use high-tech fibers, colors, sports and abrasion resistance elements in sportswear in fashion to design clothes for modern women who are free thinking.
Reporter: we all know that the cultural background and living habits of eastern and Western countries are different.
As a British designer, do you think this will be a problem for you to enter the Chinese market?
Patrick: first of all, we do not think this is a problem at all. It is a good and exciting opportunity.
In the six to eight months of the year, we will live in the city of Shanghai and let ourselves integrate into all aspects of Chinese culture.
Reporter: according to your observation, what changes do you think Chinese consumers have undergone in recent years?
Jane: I think this is changing. When Chinese consumers are more confident and understanding about fashion, they will be more willing to try and choose some.
Original brand
It will not blindly pursue big cards.
These changes are taking place. When I walk on the streets of Shanghai, I see a lot of personalized clothes that I would like to see.
Reporter: what do you think of the potential of China's clothing market and your challenge in the Chinese market?
Patrick: as a designer, I am very excited that there are so many potential consumers in China.
After the excitement, I still have some concerns, such as China, such a large country, the high-end market may continue to expand, but it may not be. This is one of the challenges that we will worry about in the future.
Reporter: after 80 and 90 are rising, and gradually become the dominant force in the market.
What do you think of their impact on the clothing market?
Patrick: I am honored to have been a designer for 27 years. I have devoted myself to education in the past 7 years, working with young people and communicating with each other. These young people, especially the students of fashion design, will represent the future leaders of the fashion industry.
They are very concerned about sustainability, and are very interested in social morality, especially on recycling and upgrading.
This attitude is completely different from that of them after they play the role of leading the consumer.
As a market leader, they will also affect society.
I think we live in a very, very exciting era, and we have the opportunity to shift from mass production to personalized clothing production for consumers. This trend is not just in the clothing industry.
Therefore, we use computer technology to produce individual garments without duplication of hundreds of identical garments.
I believe that we can create more personalized clothing by letting consumers and designers work together to design synergies.
Reporter: in recent years, more and more designers in different fields have begun to cooperate. How do you see the cross domain cooperation of designers?
Patrick: there seems to be little time left for discussing this question, but personally, I am particularly interested in this aspect.
You know, I studied product design, and my partner Jane studied fashion design, so our early works were designed in their own different ways.
The German master college has many outstanding masters from different parts of the world. They bring expertise in design, management, finance, sustainability and other fields.
Reporter: talk about the differences between Chinese and Western countries in education.
Jane: as far as I know, in western countries, we tend to teach creatively, which is what we want to bring to German rice, so that students can release their creativity.
To become an excellent fashion designer, creativity and professional skills are indispensable to the two.
Reporter: so what's the significance of the German rice masters college in your fashion education career? What kind of project is it?
Patrick: in short, our goal is to create the best fashion project in Shanghai based on the German rice master college, which means that China and the world's top fashion projects.
We tend to take advantage of the reality of industrial cooperation projects to start teaching.
As a result, students can cultivate their creativity in the real world under their feet.
Besides, none of us should have illusions from the very beginning.
To be a good designer requires ninety-five percent persistence and five percent inspiration.
So all the students and the whole team still need to make unremitting efforts.
