Burma Clothing Industry Promotes "Burma Manufacturing" Brand Image

　　 Myanmar The clothing industry is shaping the new brand image of "made in Burma" and striving to promote the clothing produced by Burma to the whole world.

The Secretary General of the Burma Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) said that although some garments labeled "made in Burma" are currently being sewn in Burma, the materials, capital and technology for making these garments may come from Burma local enterprises in the future.

Chairman MGMA pointed out that Myanmar Now enjoying the EU's GSP treatment, the order from this market has increased recently. Southeast Asia is a key market for clothing exports in Burma, especially in the Japanese market. Japan's trade promotion agency supports Burma's apparel industry to strengthen exchanges with Japanese businesses. The agency will organize talks regularly, share experiences from each other, and help Burma's apparel industry enhance its brand image.

Pakistan's exports of cotton yarn decreased by 3.7% in September.

According to data released by the Federal Statistical Bureau of Pakistan, the export volume of cotton yarn in Pakistan in September was 62 thousand and 300 tons, down 3.7% from the same period last year, declining for 13 consecutive months, mainly because China's demand for foreign cotton yarn is weakening.

With the continuous decline of monthly export volume of cotton yarn, the export volume of Pakistan cotton yarn will be difficult to achieve in 2014. In the 1~9 months of this year, Pakistan's cotton yarn accumulated 870 thousand tons of exports, down 16.9% from the same period last year, the lowest level in 3 years. According to this trend, Pakistan's cotton consumption prospects are not optimistic.

Statistics show that in the last fiscal year (June July 2013 ~2014), Pakistan exported 655 thousand and 700 tons of cotton yarn, down 9.7% from the same period last year, and exported 1 billion 648 million square meters of cotton cloth, a decrease of 7.7% compared to the same period last year.
