According to the General Administration of customs data, since 2011, the import volume of textiles and clothing in Japan has been decreasing. In 2014, the amount of textile imports was 2 billion 719 million 490 thousand US dollars, down by 23%% compared with that in 2011, and the clothing import volume was 114 million 860 thousand US dollars, a decrease of 25%, while textile exports decreased slightly. From the above data, we can see that in recent years, with the development of textile industry in Southeast Asian countries, the competitive advantage of China's textile and clothing products is not in existence, the export amount is decreasing, and the import amount is increasing.

At the same time, China's textile technology has been upgrading in recent years, the amount of imported cotton yarn from Japan has dropped, and the amount of clothing exports has risen rapidly.
