As the sponsor of the conference, the Xiamen Committee of the China Council for the promotion of trade (CCPIT) issued a white paper on Xiamen's trade and investment in Africa in 2014. It also confirmed the enthusiasm of Xiamen enterprises in investing in Africa under the vision of "one belt and one road".

According to the white paper, by the end of May 2015, the total investment of Xiamen enterprises in Africa was 16, with a total investment exceeding US $90 million. In 2014, the amount of direct investment in China was about $4 billion.

The white paper says that the vision of "one belt and one road" can not only boost overseas investment in China's related industries through large-scale infrastructure in the African continent, but also improve the overall investment environment of some African countries through improving infrastructure conditions.
