Hongkong Registered Nearly 130 Companies At The End Of Last Year.

According to the 2016 business environment report published by the world bank, Hongkong continues to take the lead in the protection of minority shareholders in 189 economies.

The international ranking of "start-up enterprises" also jumped to fourth place.

The latest statistics released by the Registrar of companies of the Hongkong Special Administrative Region on 10 may show that as at the end of 2015, the total number of local companies registered in Hongkong under the Special Administrative Region Ordinance was 1288666, an increase of 15973 compared with the end of 2014.

Among them, the total number of newly established local companies in Hongkong was 139209 in 2015.

The statistics also show that in 2015, a business location was established in Hongkong and under the special economic zone.

There are 894 non Hongkong companies registered, an increase of 10.23% over 2014.

By the end of 2015,

The total number of non Hongkong companies amounted to 10029, an increase of 4.21% over the same period last year.

At the same time, the number of companies registered with the Registrar of companies of the Hongkong Special Administrative Region in 2015 was 20470, down 5.5% compared with 2014, while the payment for registration and the lifting of property debit note increased to 23220, an increase of 8.56% compared with 2014. The total number of prospectus companies registered in 2015 was 246, up 2.93% over the same period last year; the total number of declaration documents received by Hongkong last year increased from 2624123 to 2625056 in the previous year; in terms of electronic search services, the number of public access documents and video records in 2015 was more than 3 million 910 thousand, increasing by 6.57% over 2014.

Zhong Liling, director of the Registrar of the Hongkong Special Administrative Region government, said that in March 2015, the comprehensive electronic submission document service launched by Hongkong covered all the specified forms. The new electronic services not only facilitate the company to declare data, but also enhance the efficiency of the company's submission of documents and data disclosure.

Since the implementation of the new company Ordinance in March 2014, the status of Hongkong as an international financial and business centre has been further consolidated.
