IULTCS Executive Committee Meeting Held In Hongkong

The executive committee meeting of the International Federation of Leather Technologists and Chemists Association (IULTCS) was held in Hongkong.

Representatives of China, China, Taipei, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Brazil, the United States, Ethiopia and other countries attended the meeting.

The participants agreed that we should continue to strengthen communication and exchanges with international organizations and jointly cope with them.

Problems and challenges.

The representative of India introduced in detail the relevant information about the thirty-fourth IULTCS conference to be held in India, Chennai on February 2017.

The conference will be held in India Chennai on 5-8 February 2015. The Organizing Committee of the conference has accepted the abstracts of the conference papers from March 15th. The abstracts will be submitted at the end of October.

The China Leather Association will continue to organize the Chinese delegation to attend the conference.

An important topic of the conference is how to deal with the misunderstanding of leather chrome tanning agents. Leather chrome tanning agents have been used for more than 100 years. Scientists have done a lot of research work, but with the development of society, there are many controversial or even wrong points about the chromium. In the past, especially in the past ten years, the leather industry colleagues in the world also did a lot of explanation and maintenance of chrome tanning agents, and achieved some results, but in the future, they will face greater pressure in this regard.

The leather industry is a characteristic traditional industry in Zhejiang Province, especially the leather industry in Haining. It has taken the lead in formulating the technical specifications for the recovery of chromium from tanning chrome tanning wastewater, the technical specification for the recovery of chromium rich sludge from tanning tanning agents, the technical Specification for the collection and storage of chromium containing pellas, the technical standards for the control of odor in tanning wastewater treatment sites, the technical requirements for the collection and utilization of leather waste, and the independent evaluation standard of leather processing senior workers, etc., and has been promoted and applied in the alliance enterprises, and the sales revenue has increased substantially in 6.

The amount of pollutants discharged from tannery wastewater decreased significantly. The amount of CODcr in wastewater decreased from 0.71 tons per 10000 tons in 2013 to 0.58 tons / 10000. The implementation of the standard promoted the industrial quality, integrity and pformation, enhanced the competitiveness of enterprises, increased the gradient of tannery technicians, improved the quality of leather products, and improved the technology of cleaner production.

In order to further use standardized means to speed up the popularization and application of the advanced technology and management methods of leather recycling economy and to enhance the construction of standardized talents, the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau has supported the Haining Leather Research Institute's project of "standardization of the leather industry's circular economy".

On the one hand, the project will publicize and promote the mature technology and products in the enterprise, take the lead in forming the alliance standard; on the other hand, guide the tannery enterprises to actively declare the local standards, industry standards and national standard projects, so as to establish a circular economy standard system supplemented by local standards, alliance standards and enterprise standards based on national standards and industry standards.
