China'S Big Data Industry Suffers From "Three Major Doors"

Big data (mega data), or huge data, refers to the massive, high growth rate and diversified information assets that require new processing modes to be more capable of decision-making, insight and process optimization.

Peking University professor Yang Xueshan believes that although China's big data industry is still in the initial stage of exploration, it has made positive progress in the social cognition, policy environment, market scale and industrial support ability of big data, and has created favorable conditions for the sustainable development of big data industry.

As early as 2011, the Ministry of Communications issued the "12th Five-Year" development plan for the telecommunications industry, which defined cloud computing as the key technology and key development direction for building national information infrastructure and realizing integration and innovation. This plan is regarded as a policy to promote the development of big data earlier.

In August 2015, the State Council issued the "action plan for promoting the development of big data", comprehensively expounded the significance, objectives, tasks and policies of China's development of big data industry. The introduction of this outline marked that the big data industry has been upgraded to a national strategic level, and the gradual improvement of the political system has provided good conditions for the development of big data industry.

Development still faces three difficulties

Sun Jiaguang, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, believes that the development of big data industry is highly technical and information dependent. As China's big data industry starts to lag behind and its basic conditions are not mature enough, its rapid development also faces difficulties.

One of the big problems is that information barriers have reduced the efficiency of resource allocation in big data industries.

The development of big data industry must realize the free flow and sharing of data information. If data are not open or shared, data integration can not be realized, and the value of data will be greatly reduced.

However, this problem has not received enough attention from the relevant government departments.

This is mainly due to the fact that local governments do not form a global thinking. They still believe that their data information can not be opened and shared, or even seen as an advantageous condition to seize the opportunity of big data industry development.

In addition, government departments are the main controllers of social information, and their information is controlled by different departments and regions. The data standards of different departments and regions are different, and information resources can hardly be shared.

Data security and privacy protection is a worldwide problem in the development of big data industry.
