This case sounds unbelievable, and it is shortsighted for not wanting to be an official. But this is indeed the fact that I once lived in my life. There are two or three similar cases.
People may ask: how difficult is it to say "no" to leaders? Is it so hard to learn to refuse? Well, let's look at a case of refusal done well.

When you meet such a leader, don't think that he takes you as a soft persimmon. He should adjust his mind and show his love for this job, but it is difficult to finish it.
Either refuse or ask the leader to find ways to provide you with better working conditions.
As long as you sincerely show your leader that you are not a superman, leadership can be understood and reconsidered most of the time.

If your reasons for the leadership are not very sure, the consequences of saying "no" to you are not very sure. First of all, don't worry.
