One of them is how to improve the quality of machine picked cotton. The rise of labor costs has led to large-scale promotion of machine picked cotton. However, it has brought about problems such as short cotton rate rising, strength decreasing and increasing impurity content. How to solve this problem with scientific methods is a direction for several Xinjiang regiments.

"The first Xinjiang delegation carried out research on machine picked cotton and related cotton gin equipment and technology and cotton quality, and wrote the first Chinese and English version of the research report.

On this basis, Professor Chen Xiaochuan, a professor from Yuanjiang, and other professors of the Xinjiang Group successfully declared the key technology and quality optimization of automatic cotton gin on-line inspection and control by the science and Technology Bureau of the Xinjiang production and Construction Corps. Its executive director is the top five disciplines of the National Textile Science and engineering discipline, Donghua University, Tianjin University of Technology, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Soochow University, and Soochow University.

13 Textile Universities and colleges have set up an exchange platform for the East and West. According to the needs of enterprises in Xinjiang, there are more than 100 lectures and more than 7000 training trips. More than 200 enterprises in Xinjiang have been investigated, and 10 research reports have been formed. 4 research projects such as "Xinjiang cotton picking and artificial picking quality difference analysis and improvement research" have been awarded, and won the National University, provincial and ministerial level awards in 2016.
