In June 30th, the first member congress of the the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region textile and garment industry union was held in Urumqi. The conference summed up the trade union work of the textile and garment enterprises in the whole region in the past 3 years, and identified the basic ideas and main tasks for the next 5 years, and elected the leading body of the first committee of the textile and garment industry union in the self governed area.

From the region's textile and garment enterprises Union leaders and representatives of the front-line workers, representatives from all localities, prefectures and Municipal Federation of trade unions, and trade union representatives from the relevant industry hall, a total of more than 130 people attended the meeting.

Wang Qian, chairman of China Federation of finance, trade, light textile and tobacco trade, Wang Jun, vice secretary of the the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Federation of trade unions, vice chairman Xie Qing, deputy director Xie Qing of the regional economic and Information Commission, attended the meeting.
