Located in the Hongqiao Economic Development Zone of Shanghai, the world trade mall opened in 1999. It is a global trade professional service platform consisting of three main business segments, Mart, Expo and Tower, which focus on the fashion industry. It has an annual market center of about 100 thousand square meters, with an office area of about 100 thousand square meters, with an exhibition area of about 38 thousand square meters and a supporting area of 10 thousand square meters.
At present, there are nearly 900 enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions, including international brand enterprises, consular agencies and trade and service providers, which are related to the fashion industry.
However, it seems that the world trade center, once one of the five largest pavilions in Shanghai, has no advantage over the new stadium in terms of its exhibition area, physical structure or hardware conditions.
At the same time, the comparative advantage of world trade office rental is also declining.
Zhang Yong, deputy general manager of Shanghai World Trade Center, is a senior professional manager who has broken through the market recruitment system after the acquisition of Shangshi Cheng Kai and Nanfeng group.

Reporter: after World Trade main city and Nanfeng, there has been a period of silence. How do you view the competition environment and industry changes facing the world trade mall? To adapt or to challenge?
Zhang Yong: the WTO is currently at a bottleneck turning point for sustainable development: from the perspective of industry, the WTO as a complex of diversified formats (exhibition, exhibition and office leasing) is undergoing tremendous changes in key nodes in the development of the industry. First of all, the world textile industry, the textile and clothing and gift home furnishing industry, is facing the difficulties of rising production costs and so on. The industry is in the shuffle stage; secondly, the exhibition functions of the WTO are no match for the advantages of the new venues; moreover, the comparative advantage of the world trade office rental is also dropping.
Of course, we are also very aware of the advantages and characteristics of the world trade organization, such as the advantages of geographical location, the advantages of scale and volume, the good foundation of the original industry and the reputation of the industry, and the importance and support of the Changning District government for the WTO.
Adapting to ring mirrors requires rapid changes; challenges and changes are needed, but what is more needed is innovative changes.
Since the beginning of last year, several landmark events have proved that we have adapted to the environment, let the outside world see the challenges we have launched, and have also attracted the attention of the industry and the external environment.
Interviewer: the world trade mall is brewing a new round of changes. What kind of events do you think have attracted their attention?
Zhang Yong: on the 12-15 day of October 2017, Shanghai fashion week MODE Shanghai dress and apparel exhibition successfully moved to Changning World Trade Organization. The industry has a certain understanding of the development of the world trade. In March 29, 2018, the Shanghai fashion week signed three years of strategic cooperation with the world trade mall and Changning District Business Council. At the same time, "2017 Shanghai Youth Art Fair", "2017 Shanghai Creative Industry Fair", "2018 global intelligence and new business summit" and other influential projects were held in the world trade organization.
Reporter: at the end of last year, the world trade mall was also selected as "fashion landmark" by Changning District. What bright spots did it stand out from?
Zhang Yong: in November 2017, the Changning District government formally promulgated the "Implementation Opinions on Changning District's support for the development of fashion and creative industries". Last December, the WTO participated in the selection of "Changning fashion landmark" in 2017. It was honored to be named the first "Changning fashion landmark".
The industrial ecological basis; two, the exhibition activities of the World Trade Center gathered a certain quantity and quality of the influence of the fashion and creative industries, and led the industrial and commercial atmosphere of Hongqiao's fashion and creative industries gathering area; three, the world trade has adopted innovative measures in introducing the resources of the fashion industry influence projects: Hardware renewal (exhibition hall expansion and pformation, rational optimization of the exhibition line, etc.), upgrading of services (such as the interaction between the original industrial customer resources of the World Trade Organization and the MODE Shanghai clothing and accessories exhibition, expanding publicity, improving paction performance) and the innovation of cooperation forms (such as cooperation with Qingyi Bo, the exploration of the combination of art and business space, and the exploration of new models such as "art supermarket" and "Mobile Art Gallery"). There are three highlights in the WTO: first, the scale of industrial enterprises based on the core of the big fashion industry (currently more than 60% of the WTO tenants are mainly textile, clothing, clothing and gift homes).

Zhang Yong: the annual exhibition, office building and exhibition hall are the three main business segments of the WTO. The world trade organization is a trinity exhibition trade complex at the beginning of its establishment. The annual exhibition is a supplier company displaying the product orders, and the office building is a global purchaser. The exhibition activities held by the exhibition hall provide opportunities for the buyers and sellers to exchange pactions. At the same time, they also bring fresh buyers and suppliers resources to the world trade exhibition and office buildings. It can be said that these three business plates complement each other to form the functional ecosystem of the WTO platform.
Reporter: could you tell us specifically what the strategic goal of the WTO is in the next three years and how it will be implemented?
Zhang Yong: the overall goal is always "deepening the service platform role and innovating the platform of empowering platform".
In the past three years, the target is: the dividend volume under the mining line, 1, the government empowerment 2, the industrial chain driving power 3, and the net red card.
Change the traditional competition between point and point, take the industrial chain ecology as the formation, rocket booster linear advantage, and rely on the government and Shanghai's dividend policy to form breakthroughs and dominant bodies.

Zhang Yong: at the moment, culture is not only becoming an important force in leading and promoting economic and social development, but also increasingly becoming a key factor in improving people's quality of life. Starting the brand of "Shanghai culture" is an important part of starting the "four brands". It is also an important support for the brand of "Shanghai service", "Shanghai manufacturing" and "Shanghai shopping". It is also the inevitable requirement for Shanghai to achieve high-quality development, create high-quality life, inherit urban context, carry forward the city spirit, and build an international cultural metropolis.
In terms of specific implementation, the strategic cooperation between WTO and Shanghai fashion week MODE exhibition, Shanghai Qingyi Bo and so on is to introduce international and domestic brand exhibition activities with such industry led by cooperation so as to achieve the scale gathering of high quality enterprises, products and talents at home and abroad. Through 3 years of continuous development, it has become a landmark platform for industries based on Hongqiao, radiating Shanghai and serving the Yangtze River Delta.
