Retail Sales Of 50 Key Retail Enterprises In May Dropped By 10.5% Over The Same Period Last Year.

According to the news, in May 2020, the retail sales volume of 50 key large retail enterprises in China decreased by 10.5% compared with the same period last year, a decrease of 13.4 percentage points compared with that of last month.

The retail sales growth is 3.6%, an increase of 9.4 percentage points from the previous month. Retail sales of clothing decreased by 14.6% compared with the same period last year, the decline narrowed by 14.6 percentage points from the previous month, while apparel retail sales increased by 12.6% over the same period last year. Retail sales of daily necessities decreased by 4.7% compared with the same period last year, and household appliances retail sales decreased by 8.1% compared with the same period last year. The decline was narrowed by 16.9 and 7.4 percentage points respectively compared with last month. The decline of gold and silver jewelry market was still larger, and retail sales fell by 20 percentage points year-on-year, but the monthly retail sales also rose.
