Smart City Construction Into The "Fast Lane" Tencent Wants To Build "Digital Base"
The development of new infrastructure is in full swing, and the Tencent is an important participant. At the end of May, Tencent announced that it would invest 500 billion yuan in the next five years to lay out the "new capital construction". Where should the money be invested? How to vote? The outside world is very concerned.
In June 22nd, Tang Daosheng, senior executive vice president of Tencent and President of cloud and intelligent industry group, revealed that the construction of new smart city will be a key investment direction. Tencent should help digital twin cities develop into the fast lane.
Tang Daosheng said that China's smart city has undergone more than 10 years of development, and is gradually transforming from the traditional wisdom city construction with vertical service oriented to the new smart city construction with the overall digital space as the carrier. In particular, with the abundance of urban data and the development of new technologies, the reconstruction of three-dimensional space and the establishment of digital twins in physical space are becoming a new path for smart city construction.
Not long ago, the NDRC made clear that seven technologies such as digital twins are the key technologies of digital transformation. Since the beginning of this year, a number of provinces and cities have issued corresponding documents or draft to clearly promote the CIM (city information model) platform and smart city pilot or standard. In Tang Daosheng's view, digital twin cities have entered the stage of scale implementation from planning and deployment.
To this end, Tencent is also actively layout. In April of this year, Tencent cloud launched the smart city's underlying platform CityBase, which is also the first time that Tencent cloud has entered the CIM field.
Tencent cloud vice president Wan Chao 22, in an interview with the twenty-first Century economic news reporter, said that from a macro perspective, a city can be divided into two parts, one is the infrastructure of the city, the other is the person. "In the past, many smart cities that Tencent did, such as education, health care, cultural tourism, government affairs and so on, were all centered around people. CityBase is to digitally digitize the infrastructure of the city's underground and underground, such as buildings, Luqiao, pipelines and pipelines.
According to the reporter, Tencent cloud CityBase has been landing in the relevant construction modules of Shenzhen, Wuhan, Guiyang, Chongqing and other cities.
Why do we do CityBase?
Wan Chao is a registered structural engineer at the national level, and also a member of the science and Technology Collaborative Innovation Specialized Committee of the Ministry of housing and technology. He joined Tencent in 2010 and is a promoter and practical person in the cloud intelligent building field of Tencent. He is now in charge of the management of Tencent cloud intelligent building industry.
Wan Chao told reporters that after he joined, he basically participated in all the construction work of Tencent, such as the construction of office buildings and data centers. His thoughts on how to combine architecture with the Internet began in 2013.
It happens that Tencent's current Shenzhen headquarters building, Binhai mansion, started in 2013. "This building has also become our largest test ground. We are constantly researching and developing the building," said Wan Chao.
With the Binhai building as the starting point, the WAN Chao team began to set foot in the field of intelligent building. What they started to do was the management software system in the building, so as to realize the connection of the internal data in the building. In this work, Wan Chao has been in 2018. After the adjustment of Tencent's "930" structure, they merged into Tencent cloud to become Tencent's CSIG (cloud and intelligent industry group) business.
Wan Chao said that after nearly a year of integration with Tencent cloud system, the smart building program has gradually been commercialization, and has begun to push the market. At present, more than 40 projects are being delivered. At the same time, their solutions also develop from single buildings to communities, parks and cities, and CityBase is based on digital products of the city.
According to the official introduction, CityBase is based on CIM related technology, which is based on spatial integration of people, objects and business data. Combined with the construction of the global data fusion model and the assembly of micro service applications, the problem of urban data islands and application duplication can be solved through intuitive graphic application.
Li Hongfei, director of Tencent cloud CIM product, told reporters that in the past, the industry was a smart city, basically doing service layer or content like digital government affairs, which was more close to the application layer. "In the process of urban construction, if we neglect the urban space, we think that we can not do anything in terms of resource scheduling, data preservation and so on."
For example, Wan Chao said, "in a lot of leading cadres' offices, we can see a big plan, they want to understand the pattern of the city in a more comprehensive way. This is exactly what Tencent is doing for Citybase now. When we build up a new three-dimensional space through digitalization, we can also expand our horizons.
The goal of CityBase is to provide customers with a tool and means to enable customers to see other industries in a relatively unified platform. "When you can find the same problems from different dimensions, you will realize the necessity of integration in all walks of life," Wan Chao said.
Smart city is not a battle of one person.
In the process of smart city construction, the most important work is the integration of multiple data. However, the city is also an extremely complex organization with large and scattered data. Therefore, data sharing and connectivity have become the most intractable problem in the construction of smart city.
Wan Chao also admitted that in its work process, the biggest challenge is to integrate with different application vendors, which has data format compatibility and some manufacturers' closure problems.
However, with the continuous promotion of digital twin cities, the problem of data fusion is gradually being solved. When summarizing the trend of smart city construction he observed, Tang Daosheng first mentioned the development of urban data from "isolated island" to "global integration".
Tang Daosheng said that in the past, the data of cities, departments and enterprises were stored in their respective servers. There was no connection and no resultant force. "But in this epidemic prevention and control, we can see that communities, hospitals, transportation, operators and other departments are working together. Data on the basis of" not out of the treasury ", from the island to the integration, has played an important role in the epidemic. Value ".
In addition, Tang Tao also put forward the trend of "hardware construction" from "single point construction" to "unified regulation", and from "strip management" to "multiple interaction" in urban operation.
He believes that in the construction of traditional smart cities, many cities are unbalanced in the construction of cameras, traffic lights and other hardware. On the Tencent cloud CityBase platform, data assets such as data, IoT, AI and a series of public services will be precipitated, which can help the government to better carry out pavement design and road planning, and solve urban diseases such as traffic jams.
At the same time, the "secondary wall" between urban space and application layer is being broken. More and more data sharing and interaction can be carried out among government departments, between government and enterprises, among the public. Wan Chao told reporters that the traffic congestion problem near Tencent Binhai building is also being adjusted based on the data of the surrounding buildings, and Tencent is also involved in the work.
Wan Chao told reporters that the whole city management has entered the stage of cooperation completion. It is impossible for an individual to get everything done. The same is true for Tencent. Next, what Tencent wants to do is "digital base", providing more capabilities, and then providing services to customers with partners. It is reported that Tencent has been working with Donghua software, flying technology, thick cloud map, elephant cloud, Ming Yun and other industry head enterprises.
