The New Silkworm Variety "Yunchan 11" Has Passed The National Examination And Approval

This is the first new silkworm variety approved at the national level in Yunnan Province.

This variety was bred by Liu Min, Wu Kejun, Dong Zhanpeng and other scientific researchers from the Sericulture and Bee Research Institute of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and passed the on-site evaluation of Yunnan expert group in 2016. This variety is an excellent spring variety "Shanhe", which is improved by a strong Indian strain with diversified pedigree × It is bred by Jinxiu, and the robust genes are introduced into the improved varieties by backcross, hybridization and systematic breeding. The variety is strong, easy to raise, high yield, outstanding overall high-yield performance, distinctive characteristics, good quality, suitable for spring feeding in the Yangtze River basin and the Yellow River basin.

The Research Institute of Silkworm, Silkworm and Bee of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences is the main scientific research institution engaged in the innovation of silkworm germplasm resources and the breeding of new varieties in the province for a long time. At present, it has collected and preserved more than 400 silkworm germplasm resources, including two categories of silkworm (Bombyx mori) and wild silkworm (Bombyx mori), including the unique amber silkworm resources and bred varieties, foreign introduced varieties, germplasm innovation materials Gene mutation system and basic materials. The genetic and breeding resources with special uses, such as color cocoon, egg color mutation, egg shape mutation, tea spot, sex restricted egg color, sex linked balanced lethal line, have been screened, and breeding intermediate materials with great application potential, such as black silkworm, oil silkworm, white egg, sex restricted cocoon color, bamboo silkworm, red egg death, and omnivorous varieties (artificial feed) have been created. Through the efforts of generations of scientific researchers in Silkworm and Bee Institute, "Yuncan 11", "Yuncan 10" and "Yunxia 3" have been bred successively × Cloud Summer 4, Cloud Silkworm 7 × There are 19 silkworm varieties of Yunnan silkworm series, such as "Yuncan 8", which have become the main silkworm varieties in different periods of Yunnan's sericulture industry, providing seed industry guarantee for the sustainable and healthy development of Yunnan's sericulture industry.
