From November 10 to 12, the 13th China Textile Academic Annual Conference was held in Suzhou. Relying on the regional culture and industrial advantages, the textile silk discipline of Suzhou University, after more than 110 years of construction and development, has formed the only domestic teaching and research system covering the relevant links of the textile silk industry chain, such as "mulberry planting, sericulture, silk reeling, weaving, printing and dyeing, clothing design and engineering, and clothing performance". Li Lingshen, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Council of China Textile Engineering Society, said in his speech that since 2023, the international market pressure faced by China's textile industry has increased significantly compared with previous years. The main operating indicators such as production, efficiency and investment have not yet turned negative growth, but the decline has gradually narrowed, and the industry's economic operation continues to recover. Challenges and opportunities coexist. To maintain a dominant position in the restructuring of the global textile industry chain and supply chain, it is necessary to have far ahead technology in the research and development of new materials, new processes and new equipment. Li Lingshen believes that the textile industry is still facing many "choke" technical problems, whose root is that basic theoretical research cannot keep up. Compared with developed countries, the gap of scientific and technological research in China's textile industry mainly lies in basic frontier and source innovation, especially in core technologies in key fields such as fine chemicals, advanced materials and high-end equipment. In 2023, a total of 51 papers were selected or shortlisted in the outstanding action plan for scientific and technological papers, including 7 doctoral dissertations, 14 master's dissertations, and 30 papers of Chen Weiji in the 24th session.
