Exporters Of Pakistan Require New Taxes On Electricity And Natural Gas.
The president of the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) strongly urged that the government should continue to develop support policies in the next few years, which would greatly support the country's textile exports.
The export oriented units in the textile industry, especially in the textile sector, should immediately be exempted from hydraulic power load charges, which have a negative impact on the productivity of manufacturing units, affecting export orders and commitments to foreign buyers.
He also asked for uninterrupted supply of natural gas and electricity in winter.
The president also asked that the new cost of natural gas and electricity to the textile sector could offset the rise in production costs and competition in the international market.
Over the past few years, the rise in the price of natural gas and electricity has led to an increase in the manufacturing cost of exports, which has made Pakistan lose competitiveness in the world market.
He demanded that the textile products be exempted from taxes and zero tariffs on textile exports, so that Pakistan's exporters could compete with their competitors in the international market.
He said that if the above requirements were met, Pakistan's textile exports could double in the next few years.
