Application Of Staple Fiber PTT In Knitted Sweater Field

With the development of garment personalization, the raw materials of knitted sweater are no longer confined to wool and acrylic fibers with better thermal insulation. Instead, new fibers with some characteristics are applied to sweater design in order to achieve different styles.

The development idea of PTT staple yarn is to make full use of the excellent properties of all kinds of fibers and play a complementary role in further improving the application advantages of PTT fiber in knitted sweater.

The PTT staple yarn used for developing knitted sweater can be divided into two in one and three in one or two categories.

The two components include two kinds of PTT/ cotton and PTT/ bamboo, and the three components include PTT/ wool / Tencel, PTT/ wool / modal and PTT/ moisture absorption and sweat fiber / Tencel.

The purpose of blending PTT with natural fibers is to endow yarn and fabric with the properties of natural fibers. At the same time, it also improves PTT's defects in moisture absorption, antistatic and so on. It can also blend with wool and avoid yellowing. The addition of some new fibers such as Tencel on the basis of blending with natural fibers can better improve the functionality of yarns and fabrics.

For example, the elasticity of the new PTT fiber is good, and the shape of the knitted sweater can be improved. The use of Tencel fiber can make the sweater have better flexibility and drapability, but it does not lose body bones, and has strong moisture absorption and permeability. Even if repeated washing and sunning, it also has many health functions and is not easy to pilling. Modal fiber can obviously enhance the heat and moisture comfort of the fabric and enhance the luster and feel of the fabric; the moisture absorption and sweat perspiration type polyester fiber can be used in knitted sweater to wet and dry quickly, keep the skin dry and comfortable, and the bamboo fiber can enhance the permeability of the fabric, and also has the antibacterial effect.

The above materials are used to weave single and double two kinds of tissues on the 14G hand-held flat knitting machine.

The finishing process is as follows:

1. Lotion, sandjing 0.5%, bath at 1:30, wash for 10 minutes at 60 degrees Celsius; 2. Rinse 2 times with 40~50 degrees of warm water, then rinse with clean water; softener WA LIQ 2ml/L, acetic acid 0.5ml/L, bathing at 1:30, soaking for 20 minutes at 50 degrees Celsius, dehydrating and drying.

PTT short fiber fabric is soft and waxy, and can reduce the amount of additives when finishing.

The finished fabric is clean and soft.

After performance testing, knitted sweater fabrics developed have the following characteristics:

The fabric has elastic elasticity in both longitudinal and pverse directions, and has excellent resilience.

Fabric has a slight pilling phenomenon, but because the strength of PTT blended yarn is relatively low, the wool ball is easy to fall off, and in general, it has better anti fuzzing performance.

Because of the excellent elasticity of PTT fiber, the fabric has better crease resistance.

Because the blended yarn contains natural fibers and some functional fibers, the thermal and moisture comfort of fabrics is obviously improved.

The fabric has a new drape.

The fabric is soft and light, with a touch of cashmere.

Because of the addition of PTT elastic fibers in blended yarns, the dimensional stability of the fabrics is obviously improved.

We can see that the development of knitted sweaters with PTT short fiber yarn has many unparalleled advantages. I believe that in the near future, PTT will take a place in the knitted sweater market by virtue of its excellent performance.
