2008 China International Garment Trade Fair Will Be Held In Shanghai

On July 14th ~16, the "2008 China International Garment Trade Fair" was held in Shanghai World Trade Center. 300 OEM companies and 20 thousand buyers from home and abroad gathered at the world trade fair. Every day 20 European and American buyers took part in the "matching meeting".

The exhibition is sponsored by the China Apparel Industry Association and Shanghai World Trade mall limited. The DMC (Dallas market management center) and the Japanese IFS (Itochu Itochufashionsystem) co operate with the efficient and precise "trade matching" as the core. "Buyers sit" to take the supplier as the way, with "multi theme activities" and "overseas brand promotion" as the driving force, and seek vitality in the crisis of China's clothing export trade.

According to research data, as China's second largest export trading country, its growth rate slows by 1% every time, and China's export growth will slow down by 6%.

The depreciation of the US dollar and the rapid rise of production costs have poured cold water on China's clothing export trade.

However, insiders pointed out that the "export" trend of Chinese clothing will not change.

First of all, China's textile and garment industry has the complete industrial chain, good infrastructure and perfect allocation of resources that other countries can not match. Secondly, textile as a daily basic consumer goods, its price elasticity of demand is relatively small.

China's exports to the United States increased by only 1.82% over the same period last month, but the growth of China's 1~4 is still attractive to the US market.
