The Chinese Government Will Hold Another Exhibition Of African Commodities.
In order to expand China's imports from African countries and promote the healthy development of China Africa economic and trade relations, the Ministry of commerce is scheduled to hold the "2008 second Africa Commodities Fair" at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center on September 8, 2008 -11. The exhibition will be held in conjunction with the twelfth China international investment and trade fair.
The Africa Commodity Fair will provide a series of preferential measures to exhibitors, including free booth fees for exhibitors, subsidized exhibition pportation costs, and free promotion meetings for participating countries and exhibitors.
To this end, the Ministry of Commerce has sent letters to African countries through the Chinese Embassy in Africa, inviting government departments, business associations or intermediary agencies to participate in the exhibition. In addition, it has sent invitations to African embassies in China to welcome the embassy to organize commodities and exhibitors in China. So far, 13 countries have confirmed their participation in the exhibition, and some countries have expressed their intention to participate.
In order to further promote the promotion of African trade fairs and promote the participation of African embassies in China, the Ministry of Commerce and Western Asian Affairs and Foreign Trade Development Bureau jointly held the "2008 second Beijing Exhibition on African products" in Beijing on July 29th morning. Embassy officials from 16 African countries, including Mauritius, Madagascar, Kenya, Rwanda, Tunisia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritania, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Ethiopia, Sultan, Zambia, South Africa, Uganda and Nigeria, attended the presentation.
The commercial counselor of Xie Ya Jing, Ministry of Commerce of West Asia, said at the conference that in recent years, with the joint efforts of the two governments and enterprises, China Africa trade has made rapid progress. Since 2000, the average annual growth of China Africa trade has maintained over 30%. To promote the expansion of Chinese enterprises' imports from Africa, China has also adopted a series of measures such as zero tariff, organizing enterprises to go to Africa for procurement, and holding African commodity exhibitions. China and Africa have strong complementarity in commodity structure and huge potential for trade development. China is willing to continue to make greater efforts to promote the healthy and balanced development of China Africa trade, and also hopes that African embassies in China will convey to China the good wishes of the Chinese side and urge enterprises to actively participate in this Africa commodity exhibition.
In order to cooperate with the Beijing summit and the third ministerial conference of the China Africa Cooperation Forum, the Ministry of Commerce held the first African Commodities Fair in Beijing in from November 6 to 7, 2006. Exhibitors from 23 African countries participated in the exhibition, which showcases the traditions, characteristics and advantages of products from African countries. The exhibition has been well received by exhibitors and visitors.
