According to reports, from 1 to July this year, the export of non woven fabrics has become the main driving force for export of Shunde's clothing products.
From 1 to July this year, the export of knitted garments in Shunde was 100 million US dollars, a decrease of 0.8%. In the same period, the export of non knitted fabric garments was 240 million US dollars, an increase of 16.9%, higher than that of the same period, 9.3 percentage points of garment export growth, and a 105% contribution to the growth of garment exports during the same period.
Jeans, swimsuits, T-shirts and baby garments are the main export varieties.
Among them, Shunde exported clothing 50 million 250 thousand dollars in July, an increase of 14% over the same period, a record high since 2007.
In addition, the export pattern of general trade in the 1-7 months of this year is dominant.
In 1-7 months of this year, Shunde exported 200 million dollars in general trade mode, an increase of 7.7%, accounting for 73.5% of the total value of Shunde's clothing exports in the same period.
Over the same period, processing trade exports increased by 7.1%, accounting for 26.5%, accounting for 71 million 980 thousand US dollars.
In the 1-7 month of this year, the European Union, China Hongkong and the United States are the three largest export markets of Shunde clothing.
Shunde's exports to the EU and the United States increased significantly, with exports of US $103 million 540 thousand and US $41 million 280 thousand respectively, rising by 81.9% and 34.1% respectively. Hongkong exports to US $62 million 550 thousand, a sharp decrease of 29.3%.
The total exports to the above three markets amounted to US $210 million, accounting for 76.3%.
Confidence in the export tax rebate rate raises confidence
At present, with the continuous increase of production costs, the subprime mortgage crisis and the appreciation of RMB, the profit margins of Chinese garment enterprises have been further compressed, and the competitive edge of the garment industry is being gradually weakened.
At the spring fair this year, the total volume of textile and garment exports totaled 4 billion 990 million US dollars, down 11.4% from the previous year, resulting in many enterprises shutting down or even closing down.
However, Shunde's clothing exports continue to grow stubbornly by pulling jeans.
According to the head of the Foshan customs office in Shunde, the export growth rate of men's jeans and women's jeans in Shunde reached 40.6% and 21.5% respectively in 1-7.
At the same time, Shunde successfully opened up the huge clothing market in Europe and America, and laid a solid foundation for export growth.
In July 31, 2008, the Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation jointly issued the notice on adjusting the export tax rebate rate of some textiles and garments (hereinafter referred to as the notice), raising the export tax rebate rate of some textiles and clothing from 11% to 13%.
"The implementation of the notice is expected to increase profits to more than 60 million yuan per year for Shunde enterprises, which will play a positive role in enhancing the confidence of Shunde garment export enterprises."
The head of Foshan customs office in Shunde said.
The person in charge suggested that clothing enterprises should increase scientific and technological input and product innovation, and gradually change from simple clothing manufacturing base to clothing design and brand management.
In addition, the export of enterprises should also be changed from "scale oriented" to "benefit oriented", so as to increase the added value of products.
And play the role of trade associations, actively explore the sales channels of foreign markets, and improve the ability of enterprises to adapt to changes in the business environment and resist market risks.
