Ankang Cultivates Natural Colored Cocoons And Reproduces Colored Cocoons.

The theory of "coming" discovered in 1998 that wild silkworms, which were destroyed by pests in Qinba Mountain Area in Ankang, were very useful in breeding. After more than ten years of arduous efforts, natural colored genes were obtained from wild silkworm wild resources, and dozens of natural colored cocoons, such as golden, orange, yellowish, yellowish, green, light green and flesh colored, were separated from the wild silkworm wild resources. After examination by the Institute of textiles and materials of Xi'an Polytechnic University, the results showed that there was no significant difference in the color of the whole section from the outer fiber to the fiber center, and the color of the fiber cross section was consistent with the color of the fibers. The natural pigments in the colored silk were distributed evenly in silk and sericin. This technology is Hu Bili, director and assistant professor of sericulture Laboratory of Ankang University.

This spring, 12 seeds were bred to feed silkworms, and 78 cocoons were produced. The yield of cocoons was basically the same as that of ordinary silkworms.
