In 1977, Cai Yuliang, a graduate of Guangdong arts and crafts school, was assigned to the Hainan Institute of Arts and crafts, and was engaged in the research of Hainan folk traditional arts and crafts.

But he was not satisfied with the monograph. He often wrote to Cai Yuliang to insist on collecting excavation and research work.

With the deepening of the research, Cai Yuliang was fascinated by the dragon. In order to get a dragon quilt, he took pains to pay for it.

In 1989, Cai Yuliang's monthly salary was only tens of yuan, when the dragon was more than 150 yuan.

In order to get the quilt, Cai Yuliang could only sell his beloved paintings.

The Dragon quilt is the treasure of Li village's ancestral towns and villages, and it is difficult to collect.

In 1998, there was a long quilt in a village in Ledong County, southern Hainan Island. Cai Yuliang began to ask for permission to see it and was refused by the villagers.

Later, through his friends' introduction, he gradually became familiar with villagers.

The spirit of his perseverance moved the villagers. At last, he bought three cows and sent them to the villagers. At last he changed the dragon.

Two in 00 and three years, several people who collected dragon quilt in Guizhou province collected nine sets of dragons in Hainan. They also found Cai Liang Liang and wanted to buy more dragons from him.

Instead of selling, Cai Yuliang bought the other nine sets of dragons.

Every time Cai Yuliang travels, he will also pay attention to the Dragons of Li nationality scattered abroad.

In the past more than 20 years, Cai Yuliang spent his limited financial resources to collect the dragons and the footsteps of the Li nationality villages in Hainan.

Today, his collection of dragons from yuan, Ming to Qing Dynasty, up to more than 120 sets, is Hainan and even the whole country collects the most dragon, the most species, the highest quality collectors, become the first dragon collection.

Collection and collection made Cai Yuliang's research on the Dragon quilt more in-depth.

He said that there are five forms of dragon quilt, namely, single, double, triple, quadruple and five links.

The patterns of dragon quilt are different, and their uses are different: some are used for religious activities, others are for happy activities, others are for white activities.
