Cotton Production Increased By 9.6% In Uzbekistan In 1-7.
Uzbekistan's National Bureau of Statistics reported Thursday that in January -7 cotton production in Uzbekistan was 727320 tons, an annual growth rate of 9.6%.
The Uzkhlopkoprom Association of the state produced 724940 tons of cotton fiber in January, an increase of 10.7% over the year, and 2380 tons of foreign joint ventures. Compared to the same period, 9000 tons were produced in 2007, compared with the same period in 2007.
In 2007, cotton harvest in Uzbekistan decreased by 0.6% to 3 million 610 thousand tons, and cotton fiber output decreased by 3.9% to 1 million 125 thousand tons.
