Export Enterprises Must Fully Understand EU Directive In Order To Cope With

The European Union is China's largest trading partner.

In 2008, the European Union issued two laws and regulations, 765/2008/EC and 768/2008/EC, which aim to strictly enforce the CE certification requirements, so as to ensure product safety.

In addition, the new law also strictly stipulates the size of the CE logo. It requires that all the components of the CE logo must have the same vertical dimension and shall not be less than 5 millimeters. No matter whether the CE logo is reduced or enlarged, and the original proportion is slightly different, it will be regarded as misuse and will be severely stopped by the legal actions of Member States.

However, the implementation of the new regulations is coming soon, and many domestic export enterprises have not yet paid enough attention to this. And many years ago, the author found that there are some misunderstandings in many enterprises' understanding of the CE logo.

First, some enterprises think that the CE tag is only a security tag, and only pay attention to the safety requirements of the product. In fact, it is far from a safety requirement.

The products marked by the CE logo indicate that they meet the requirements of a series of European directives, such as safety, hygiene, environmental protection and consumer protection. For example, a refrigerator exported to the EU must comply with the LVD directive, EMC directive, ROHS directive and WEEE directive.

Two, the product marked with CE should not be affixed with the CE mark. The goods will be detained or even destroyed after the goods arrive at the European Union port.

Three, the CE logo is added to the error, including the tagged CE tag which does not meet the requirements and the product labeled with CE should not be affixed with CE tag. This practice will be punished by the European Union after the implementation of the new regulations.

Four, the product has been labeled with CE, but has not passed the conformity assessment procedure. After the product enters the EU market, it is informed by the EU official because it does not meet the requirements of the harmonization standard.

In fact, the coordination standards are formulated by the European Organization for standardization. Products that meet these standards can be regarded as meeting the basic requirements of the European Union directive.

Most of the products exported to Europe can be found applicable coordination standards. After the implementation of the new regulations, conformity assessment activities must be completed by the designated assessment institutions.

First, raise awareness of crisis and take the initiative to understand the latest EU regulations, policies and trends. In particular, we should pay attention to the understanding of the relevant provisions of the CE logo and eliminate misuse of the CE logo.

Two, we should take market as the guidance, intensify research and development, develop products with high technology content, low energy consumption and low pollution, and enhance the ability to cope with EU green barriers.

The three is to conduct CE certification in time for export products within the EU directive so as to ensure that products meet EU requirements.

The four is to make up for deficiencies in environmental safety awareness and production technology, as well as the traceability of raw materials to finished products and the safety and hygiene of the production process. The details of the size and shape of the CE logo on the product label need to meet the requirements of the European Union CE certification and effectively avoid export risks.
