USDA US Pima Cotton Export Sales Weekly Broadcast
The week ended April 2, 2009, until March 26, 2009.
This week reported 6300 new exports, compared with 4200 in the previous week. At present, the number of registered 2008/09 cotton exports is 130200 packs, compared to 123800 packets last week.
The sales volume was 17% of the 770000 package sold in the same period last year. The current shipment volume of 89400 packages is 16% of the 558600 package shipped during the same period last year.
Buyers in the week include China (4300), Hongkong (500), Bangladesh (400), Thailand (400), Guatemala (300), Indonesia (300), and Mexico (100).

2008/09 the five largest importing country in the farming year is Indonesia's 26600 pack. India, Germany, China and Japan imported 19200 bales, 17200 packs, 15500 packs and 10200 bags respectively. The five countries account for 68% of the total export volume of Pima cotton so far this year.
So far, 800 packages of forward cotton have been sold. At present, the number of new cotton sales is 800 bales in 2009/10, and the sale of new cotton is 0 packs in 2010/11.
