大賽組委會對已經收到的作品，進行了認真初審，專家認為：整體設計水平有所提高，但令人耳目一新的作品幾乎沒有。另一方面，由于我國遇到了極為罕見的大地震，四川地區牽動了全國人民的心，同時做為中國的鞋類主要產地之一的四川參賽選手不能夠按時提供作品，也影響了首屆“祥緣杯”新新人類鞋樣設計大賽的正常日程安排。為確實鼓勵年輕設計師參與、圓滿地完成本次設計大賽，世界服裝鞋帽網經研究，慎重決定，將首屆“祥緣杯”新新人類鞋樣設計大賽的收稿日期適當延期。
