Huang Mengfu: Textile And Garment Industry Must Seize Opportunities To Promote Industry Upgrading.

Huang Mengfu, vice chairman of the National People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the National Federation of industry and commerce, pointed out that the textile and garment industry should seize opportunities and promote the adjustment and upgrading of the whole industry in the second member congress of the textile and garment industry association of China Federation of industry and Commerce.

The conference is also a general meeting.

Gao Dekang, chairman of Jiangsu Bosideng group, was elected the new chairman.

The National Association of textile and apparel industry was founded in 2002. Its members are mainly private enterprises. Besides members from mainland China, members from Hongkong, Taiwan and foreign capital have taken the industries of spinning, weaving, printing, dyeing, linen, silk, wool, chemical fiber, fashion, leisure fashion, shirts, knitted underwear and so on.

In the past 8 years, the chamber of Commerce has done a lot of fruitful work in cultivating industry markets and fashions.

In his speech, Huang Mengfu said that the chamber of commerce must study new situations and new problems facing the development of the industry under the new situation, improve the organization of trade associations, regulate the internal management of trade associations, give full play to the role of chambers of Commerce, and guide the small and medium-sized private enterprises to pform their economic development mode, adjust their industrial structure, and vigorously develop strategic emerging industries as soon as possible, so as to achieve scientific development.

Huang Mengfu pointed out that the textile industry is both the traditional industry and the fashion industry. The current difficulties are mainly the pressure of RMB appreciation, the international trade protectionism is increasing, and the labor cost has been greatly improved.

In 2009, the State Council promulgated the "textile industry adjustment and revitalization plan". The new chamber of commerce should seize opportunities and promote the adjustment and upgrading of the textile and garment industry.

Gao Dekang, the new president, said at the meeting that the leading task of the new chamber of commerce is to guide member enterprises to establish confidence and unswervingly adjust their structure and make progress in a down-to-earth manner.
