China's textile import and Export Chamber of Commerce believes that in the initial stabilization of the global economy, China's textile and clothing exports are correspondingly good, but the difficulties faced by exports this year are still grim.
Exhibitors generally reflect that this year's exports face many uncertain factors: first, some buyers of major textile importing countries such as Europe, Japan and other countries have shifted to the Southeast Asian countries in recent years to offset the risks brought by trade frictions, RMB appreciation and rising costs; two, because of the economic recession, Europe and the United States and some developing countries are increasingly using trade remedy measures to protect their industries; three, there is no obvious improvement in the European and American economies, the unemployment rate remains high, the RMB exchange rate is facing appreciation pressure; four, with the economic recovery in the country, support for export policy or withdrawal will be made; five, the labor and raw material prices will continue to rise, and the cost risk of enterprises will increase.
At present, the labor cost in China is 2 times that of India and 3 times that of Vietnam. The advantage of cheap labor is losing, but the price of export products is difficult to upgrade, and the survival of enterprises is difficult.
The first textile network editor in chief Wang Qian pointed out that compared with the first quarter, exports in the two quarter often determine the export performance of the whole year.
He pointed out that in the wake of the pick-up in overseas consumer demand, the pressure of RMB appreciation is increasing. The change of exchange rate not only means a direct reduction in the profits of export enterprises, but also affects the acceptance of orders.
Wang Qian predicts that China's textile and clothing exports will maintain 10%-15% growth in the second quarter of this year.
"On the one hand, domestic export enterprises need to adjust their trade structure, shift to high-end products, and on the other hand, tap the huge potential of the domestic market while maintaining export market share."
In the first quarter of this year, China's textile and apparel exports totaled US $39 billion 250 million, an increase of 15.3% over the same period last year.
In March, the total export value of textiles and clothing was US $11 billion 10 million, down 9.5% compared to the same period last year.
