Google Voice Service Google&Nbsp; Voice Accused Of Infringing Patents

According to foreign media reports, Frontier Communications Corp., a telephone, Internet access and satellite TV service provider, filed a lawsuit against Google on Tuesday, accusing Google Voice of infringing its patent rights and asking the court to prohibit Google from continuing to provide the service.

Google's Google Voice service allows users to connect home phone, work phone and cell phone with the same phone number.

Frontier also asked the federal court to determine Google's compensation for infringement damages.

In an indictment submitted to the District Court of Delaware District, Frontier said: "Google's intentional tort has caused tremendous and irreparable damage to Frontier."

Users of Google Voice can apply to Google for a new phone number.

The phone number is allocated to the user, not any specific device.

When other people dial the phone number, the user can decide whether to make the phone ring or the home phone ring.

Frontier said Google's practice violated its patent rights.

According to its patent application, its technology patent allows users to receive a call from a number of telephone lines.

Reporters tried to contact Frontier and Google, but neither side replied immediately.
