Transformation And Upgrading Of Guangdong'S Textile Industrial Clusters (1)

Over the past 30 years, Guangdong has formed a group of products that are relatively relevant to the whole country.

In from March 15 to 21, 2010, I participated in the research group of textile industry association headed by Vice President Chen Shujin and vice president Zhang Yankai, and went to Zhongshan, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Foshan and other places in Guangdong province to investigate and study with 17 industrial clusters and parts.

Maintaining steady recovery in 2009

According to the materials provided by more than a dozen clusters of research, the major economic indicators such as output, output value, sales revenue and profit in 2009 have maintained a steady growth trend.

Xiaolan Town output value increased by 3.7%, profit growth 3.8%, salt step output increased by 10.3%, sales revenue increased 15%, profit growth 14.8%; Xiqiao output increased 0.9%, sales revenue increased 9.8%, profit growth 4.5%; cotton textile cluster enterprises sales revenue increased by 9%, the sales revenue of Enterprises above designated size increased by a large margin, reaching 10.4%, and sales revenue of enterprises below scale showed a downward trend.

Relatively speaking, the negative growth of exports is high.

Except for Dalang, Siu Lam, Yuen Chau and quicksand, other clusters are basically flat and declining.

7% of garment enterprises of an export cluster had no export records in 2009.

This trend of steady recovery is basically the same as that of the whole industry in 2009, and the textile industrial cluster has made a significant contribution to the improvement of the economic situation of the whole industry.

Good start after Spring Festival.

Most of the textile enterprises in the survey area started construction after the Spring Festival long holidays. The late start of the business was delayed for at least a week, obviously better than the same period last year.

If Humen and Xinhui enterprises "fifteen" after all started, Xiaolan operating rate of more than 90%, some enterprises began to increase branches, purchase equipment; Xiqiao operating rate of 93%; Zhangcha, Yanbu, Shaxi operating rate of more than 80%; the average level is around 85%.

The orders are basically full, and have rebounded considerably over the same period last year. For example, the increase in orders in Dalang is 20%, and companies are picking up orders.

Many cluster enterprises have already fulfilled their orders in the first half of the year, and some business orders in Humen have reached 9 and October.

Due to the fast growth of orders in garment enterprises this year, there was a shortage of sewing equipment on the Guangdong market.

Some T-shirts enterprises are not on holiday because of the peak season of production.

The Guangdong clothing association has made the following analysis of the reasons for the resumption of export orders in the first two months:

(1) some enterprises have stopped production, and international orders are pferred and concentrated to more competitive regions and enterprises.

(2) a considerable part of the consumption demand shifted from middle and high grade to low and medium grade.

(3) European and American suppliers replenish inventory at this stage after Christmas.

However, there are still many uncertainties in the second half of the year. Many companies are not optimistic.

The domestic market is promising.

Judging from the professional market of clothing, Guangdong's clothing market is popular after the Spring Festival.

Humen clothing market stalls prices rose, opened in the sixth day, sold the pre holiday inventory in two days; Guangzhou Baima market stalls leased from the second half of last year, and now it has reached 100%; the Guangzhou red cotton market opened the night market in October last year, and the popularity after the festival was very strong.

This is a signal of optimism, which further confirms the judgement that the domestic demand market will continue to maintain rapid growth and become an important support for the development of the industry.
