British Retail Products Were Fined For Exceeding Two Methyl Fumarate (DMF).

Recently, the British supreme court asked three retailers to pay compensation to 1650 consumers, who bought the sofa because of the chemical substance DMF contained in the product.

Fumarate two methyl ester (DMF) is a highly sensitive antibacterial chemical, used as a mildew inhibitor for furniture in pportation or storage.

Indoor air containing DMF small bags can cause severe chemical burns to the skin.

Other symptoms include skin allergies, rashes, eye irritation and dyspnea.

According to reports, more than 4000 people in the UK have been affected by DMF, and at least 5 European countries have similar reports.

The case is considered to be "the largest consumer class action in the history of British law".

It is said that the total cost of the case, including compensation and litigation costs, will reach 20 million.

The allergy of fumarate two methyl ester (DMF) was first reported in France in 2008, and the use of DMF was banned in the EU in May 2009.

Subsequently, all Member States were asked to ban the entry of DMF products into the market, and products that had entered the market must be withdrawn or recalled.

According to the EU 2009/251/EC directive, the DMF content in the product must be less than 0.1 mg / kg, thereby reducing the impact on consumers.
